Working with Scott was a great experience. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to take a call at any time during the day. If I had a question, Scott had an answer. It was great everything went well

Scott guided us smoothly through the purchase of our first home in 2010 when the mortgage industry was still recovering from the mortgage crisis. He is incredibly professional and focused on each and every step of the process from making an offer to the closing. Would highly recommend!!

Scott made us feel really comfortable. His demeanor was professional and he was always available when I needed him for questions. I am happy that I decided to take the chance!

I talked/emailed with ~ 5 different mortgage people before I decided on Devon. Devon is very pleasant and nice to talk too. I liked him as a person. I was a non-typical, difficult case because I do not have stable income. I have been teaching as an adjunct professor for many years and my teaching contracts are semester to semester. I also do research but the research grants are sporadic- sometimes I am supported for research and sometimes not. Devon immediately understood my situation because his father also does/did adjunct professor teaching. Devon was able to explain things to me so that I could understand what was going on. Devon could tell when I was confused about something and he would change his explanation to a more basic level until I would finally get it. With the first mortgage guy I talked to, I could never figure out what part of my income counted or didn't count towards the maximum amount of loan I could get as he didn't take the time to explain that to me. With that first mortgage guy, even when I did get an answer to a question during our one and only meeting, it was too complicated for me to understand. (I was a clueless first time home buyer). Even worse, with some other mortgage people, all they wanted was for me to type in my income into an internet form. They didn't want to or could not deal with someone like me that has non-standard income. Finally, I learned from Devon that as my present research contract is for 2 years, according to the strictest rules, that was the only part of my income that could be used to calculate my maximum loan amount. (By the strictes rules, none of my teaching income is supposed to count because one semester is too short of a time). Later it turned out the Devon was able to get me a bigger loan than what was initially anticipated because he was able to argue that some of my teaching income should count because I've been doing it for so long. His underwriters are in house so I think that was an important advantage. I don't think any of those other mortgage people could have done that for me. Initially I was supposed to only be able to get a $75000 loan but fortunately it became a $125000 loan. My 30 year fixed loan rate is 3.65%.
