He does a really nice job with the work. I have had him do a number of projects for me. He is competitively priced. I have been happy with his work.

Bernie installed our two doors and six glass block windows on November 3, 2011.  We are thrilled with how things went.  After
ordering the windows and doors Bernie called and installed all in one day.  The results are wonderful.  They are knowledgeable and did an excellent installation. 

We love Bernie Rausch so much, we had him do 2 jobs for us!  The first job was completed in January 2010, and cost ~$2,400.  This included two glass block windows (one with a vent), a replacement pane of glass for our bathroom window, a standard steel door (for our basement), a custom made steel front door, and a custom made storm door for the front.  I got quotes from other big chains that were just $2,400 for the front door and front storm door alone, and Baltimore Block wanted to charge twice what Bernie charged for the two block windows.  Bernie and his team were always punctual, and Bernie was very up front about everything he did.  Before he even greeted us, he informed us that our front door would be a custom order!  He really knows his stuff.  He was also up front about the tax credits which we qualified for based on the two steel doors that we purchased, and made sure we had the right paperwork for tax purposes.  The 2nd job was for 2 more block windows and a back door with a storm door, and cost $1,800.  These doors were not energy star certified, mostly because we got a door with a lot of glass in it, and he informed us of that fact, too. 

When it comes to payment, he asked for a small deposit upfront, then offered to return to pick up the final payment after the job was completed and we had a chance to look at it.  This was very thoughtful, and convenient for us.

Another thing that I greatly admired and appreciated about Bernie is that he wasn't just some guy who came out, took the measurements, and gave the quote, but he also came back (with additional help) to do the job.  I love that he didn't have any sleazy sales people nor did he send someone else a mere set of directions.

The reason I gave Bernie a B for responsiveness was not actually for his response rate, but because he was hard to get a hold of.  If you call him and leave a message, he does get back to you in about 1-2 days, which is a decent amount of time.

Bernie is a thoughtful guy with great personality, and if we ever consider replacing our windows, we will give him a call.

He was honest and direct when we met with him. He is a local guy and it is a family business. He had a good price for what we wanted.

They were very responsive. The price was set at the beginning so if it's in your price range, you can choice any door in Bernie's book and they will install within a few weeks. Installation went very smooth.

They were on time and worked quickly and efficiently. All the mess was cleaned up and disposed of. I did end up with some black greasy spots on my carpet which I have been unable to remove. Fortunately, I plan to have the floor covering replaced soon.

I knew my door was a custom size and as such, expected I would have to put a deposit down to order the door. This contractor informed me, and I quote" I don't take a penny until the job is done right". I was pleased at that level of confidence and discovered it was well founded based on the exceptional quality of the work done. He was recommended by a friend, who described a similar experience. He was extremely professional & courteous and what I liked best, was that he came to my home, at my convenience, to discuss the work I needed done and show me options. His price was $200.00 less than Home Depot and the experience overall could not have been better. I would heartily recommend this company to anyone.
