I am able to reserve books online with my library card and choose the branch where I want to pick them up. When the book is delivered to that branch and ready for pick-up, I receive an e-mail and I have seven days to go get it. If I don't get it in the time period specified they will charge me $1, which seems fair to me since I kept others from being able to get the material.

I know that many people have moved past dial up, and who can blame them? I mostly use my very fast network connection at my job. But there are things that I can't do that, or sites that are blocked by our system's firewall (snopes, for instance). So, there are times that having a back-up is helpful. And this is a great, CHEAP option. Whenever I think of upgrading to another type of service, I consider the fact that it would cost at least 3 times as much. Also, BCPL provides great information on new spam and phishing trends.
