I am able to reserve books online with my library card and choose the branch where I want to pick them up. When the book is delivered to that branch and ready for pick-up, I receive an e-mail and I have seven days to go get it. If I don't get it in the time period specified they will charge me $1, which seems fair to me since I kept others from being able to get the material.
Description of Work: I've lived a number of places and this is the best library system I've ever had the pleasure of using. It has a large selection of books, particularly new and popular books. And I can reserve books online and have them delivered to my local branch at no extra charge. I usually reserve one that I want and then end up browsing and checking out even more when I get there to pick up my one item. The few times I haven't found what I've been looking for, the librarians have been very helpful. Thanks to Baltimore County Public Library for their great selection and great services.

 + -1 moreI know that many people have moved past dial up, and who can blame them? I mostly use my very fast network connection at my job. But there are things that I can't do that, or sites that are blocked by our system's firewall (snopes, for instance). So, there are times that having a back-up is helpful. And this is a great, CHEAP option. Whenever I think of upgrading to another type of service, I consider the fact that it would cost at least 3 times as much. Also, BCPL provides great information on new spam and phishing trends.
Description of Work: I got internet service connection via unlimited dial-up, personal e-mail, free web space, and spam and virus filtering. It also offers text-based UNIX ''shell'' access for those who prefer it.
