Before installation, they added a vent, they crushed and left it there without letting me know. The installers came in and saw this vent they said they would fix it. They said said everything was fine. I had a gut feeling that something was wrong. I hired a different company come out and take a look. I went back and showed them both of the vents, at first they did not want to give me my money back. They finally did after 4 weeks. I will never go to Best Buy again!

My computer kept crashing so I took it into Best Buy. They misdiagnosed it as a hard drive issue. They installed a new one and I took it home only to have the same issues. I took it back and they correctly diagnosed it as an issue with the mother board. They credited me for the hard drive. We decided when they quoted the price for the new mother board that it wasn't worth it and I decided to purchase a new computer. I got a credit for the repair charges. Best Buy made a mistake but they stood behind it and made it right. I would tell others to include Best Buy in your shopping but do comparative shopping as well. Don't buy the first thing you see. I read Consumer Reports and they rated Geek Squad high. I did have to make several trips to their store due to their mistakes but they always responded to me positively. They never tried to hide a mistake and the agent brought in a supervisor to make good on their work. They did promise one thing they did not do, which was transfer everything from the old hard drive to the new. When I went back to the store they had not gotten to it yet. But I did not want to wait any longer and I had the back up myself at home so I went ahead and did it myself.

My Internet access was blocked for all but two sites. I carried my computer tower to the Best Buy Geek Squad in Timonium. (I purchased the computer from this Best Buy location approximately eighteen months before this incident occurred.) Although the computer reached the Internet while I was at the store, the representative guessed that the Norton AntiVirus on my computer was blocking my access at home. I left the tower with the Geek Squad for diagnosis and installation of another AntiVirus and a spy sweeper. I was told that the repairs would take three days. The repairs were NOT done in a timely manner; five days after I left the computer with the Geek Squad, it was ready for pick up. (No one at the Timonium Best Buy store--neither the Geek Squad nor any of the other offices--answered the telephone when I called the store repeatedly to determine the status of the repair.) When I connected the computer at home, I still had blocked Internet access. On the following day, I took the computer back to Best Buy, where the computer connected readily to every site the representative tried. I returned home with the tower; I still could access only the same two sites. The Best Buy Geek Squad seems limited and, not surprisingly, governed by the need to sell the store's wares even when customers do not need the items they are sold. This approach is a short-term one that fails to inspire customer confidence or loyalty. A technician from another company (Geoff from www.digitalgeek.biz) that I located through Angie's List knew immediately that I had a router problem. He replaced the router and modem, and I was "up and running" shortly after the installation.

I bought a Panasonic VR/DVD player from this store. After (?) months, it malfunctioned. I took it back without any receipts, no idea of when I had purchased it, etc. Using only my name, their computer found the date of sale, which was within the warranty period. They repaired the item under the mfr's warranty, and charged me nothing. It's working just fine now.

Employee Ken Cook assisted me in finding an appropriate appliance and was polite and helpful. He printed out product information and special ordered the item b/c it was an unusual size. After 2 weeks the product arrived. Employee Ruth Tanner tried to help me put it in my car but it didn't fit. So, I had to pay for delivery which was arranged for 3 business days later. Both employees told me about the Best Buy Rewards program and responsive in returning calls.

The sales girl Jennifer was very helpful. She measured the appliances as I have space limitations, and she recommended another washer when the one I wanted was out of stock. Delivery was made within 2 days. I couldn't find anyone else who could deliver in fewer than 2 weeks. She explained the extended warranty and the new points program that enabled me to get some ''free'' gift certificates. She even sent a thank you post card. The delivery guys were actually early, although they did scratch up my walls carrying them upstairs, but damage was minor.
