MJR Contracting, Inc. paved the asphalt driveway of my new home. But the driveway raised up by about 2 inches in the winter for two winters in a row. To fix this frost heaving problem, the company re-paved a three-foot section of the asphalt driveway near the garage. However, the finish of the re-paved asphalt surface is very poor. The top of the re-paved asphalt surface is higher than the top of the concrete garage, and rain water may back flow into the garage. Additionally, the asphalt edge finish next to the concrete garage has many 1 inch diameter pit holes. The workmanship is very poor. What is disappointing is that the company said that there is nothing wrong with the asphalt finish, and refused to fix the problems. According to their standard, my asphalt driveway surface finish is considered normal.
