The vehicle had 3/4 tank when I got it. I returned it with a full tank because I couldn't easily estimate how many gallons I would need to return it with only 3/4 tank. I asked for a refund for the extra gas, but the manager refused. I wouldn't care if gas were only $1.5/gal, but at $4+ per gallon, this extra gas cost more than the van rental. Further, as a policy, U-Haul gouges on mileage, 79 cents per mile makes it cheaper to rent a truck at Enterprise Car Rental just next door to U-Haul.
