It makes no sense to provide a rating, because as far as I can ascertain, this company is out of business. When I needed service follow-up after I bought and had installed ~ 20 windows and doors, they did not answer their phone for service follow-up. A rating for that is an F. PLEASE VERIFY THAT THIS IS THE SAME HAMMER AND NAIL THAT USED TO BE IN ROCKVILLE, MD.

It went very well from the first visit of the representative to the installation of the windows. The crew was punctual, efficient and did a great job (although they could have done a better job at cleaning the left over mold from the old windows...). The only reservation I have about Hand N is that they are not as transparent as they could be about the lead paint test. Apparently, a lead paint test of the old windows is mandated by law and we were made aware of that fact, including the cost of the test, when we ordered the windows. We are not quite sure when the test was performed but we were told that sample material of the old windows was collected by the person who came to take measurements and that the test was performed later. The test cost $75 dollars for each window. We didn't get a test report until much later, when we enquired about the $150 charge. Prospective customers of Hand N should be especially vigilant when it comes to the lead paint test. They should demand that the sample material be collected in their presence so that they know what they are paying for.
