They were very polite and they were on time despite the weather. The total work was also completed in a hour and a half as promised. I would recommend them and use them again.

It only took an hour and a half to blow in the fiberglass insulation.
The only downside was the cleanup wash't very good, as we had to vacuum the hall and the stairs after they left.

The company had to adjust their schedule several times due to our requests either because of weather or other work being done at our house and they always did it cheerfully and assured us that it was okay. The two men arrived an hour early (6:30am) and said they would return in an hour if it was too early for us. They were extremely pleasant, careful and worked quickly. Pleasure to have them work here.

Carroll Insulation represented themselves as having spray foam insulation experience. Insulation was applied incorrectly, and all insulation and sheetrock needs to be removed and the house gutted. Insurance company estimates they caused $400,000 in damages.

The experience had its good and bad points....mostly good.
I had 4 firms come out and give me estimates for this work and these guys were (by far) the least expensive. The fact that they are a local company (less than 1 mile away) was a big plus in my book too. The estimator was very professional, but I had to call the office back to actually get the estimate emailed to me. I had already scheduled the time off from work and had another contractor coming to the house to replace an attic fan, and CARROLL was very accommodating - getting me on their schedule for the same day. The price was right, so I exercised the option to bring the attic above code to R49. The work crew showed up a little early (which was fine).
Here's the rub: I always make it a point to observe closely when I have a contractor in working on my home. I don't hover, but I make it a point to see what they are doing. Now, CARROLL offers to seal up the light fixtures and pipe protrusions in the drywall at no extra charge (as a part of their service). But the workers that performed this task did a very poor job of sealing. I know. I know, the price was right, but if I’d have known the type of hap-hazard effort they were going to put in, frankly, I’d have just gone ahead and done it myself. That’s the bad…The good is that, the workers found a disconnected bathroom exhaust vent and re-connected it before piling 20+ inches of insulation on top of it. So, while I worry about the seals they half-heartedly did, they allowed me to dodge a bullet on the exhaust vent. Once they started with the insulation, the job was done in minutes. They had me inspect their work in the attic, and it looked great. Probably a B+ on quality, but that's not an option.

Jay was extremely professional, friendly, and prompt. He also made me feel at ease as a first time home buyer and was very detail oriented with the services I needed for the insulation in my attic. He really helped me understand the difference between laying insulation versus blowing insulation. I feel very thankful to have found Jay and I would highly recommend this company to anyone I know. In fact, I think next door neighbor is going to use their services as well.

Estimate was scheduled quickly. Matt came out to look at the house and existing insulation Monday morning and I received the written estimate Monday afternoon. He responded quickly to all of my questions.

I called to schedule the installation the following Monday and got an appointment for Wednesday morning. The installers were already at the house when I pulled up and they got straight to work. They put in the baffles and then blew in insulation to reach 18 inches (there was about 2 inches in there before). They were done in about 1 1/2 hours. They then showed me the attic so I could see the work.

This was a quick and hassle-free transaction and we are very pleased with the company and the results.

We contacted Matt through email and he responded back within 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon. He provided an initial estimate through email and we scheduled an appointment for the following week so that they could come out an get accurate measurements and provide a written estimate. Matt emailed us the written estimate the same day after the home visit and the final quote was within 10% of the initial job quote. We were able to schedule the job within 3 business days. The installation process was great. The installation crew arrived ~1 hour early for an 8am appointment, but waited in their truck for 45 minutes. They ran the tube through a window and completed the installation job in about an hour. They cleaned up great and let us inspect the job before they left.

The installation process was excellent. The crew arrived more than 30minutes early for an 8am start time, but rather than possibly disturb us I believe they were prepared to wait in their truck. When I went out to meet them, they were eager to start early. The entire job was completed in less than an hour. We were very pleased. Would definitely recommend. As an add bonus the job was scheduled inside of a week.

Job went well. No complaints. Price was where I thought it should be. I had calculated what it would cost for me to do the work myself and I couldn't do it cheaper based on the price Carroll proposed, which was $400-$500 less than one other Angies'list competitor and one competitor not listed on Angies'list. Overall, I must assume all was done properly, since I know nothing about insulation and the insulation of a home.

Same-day estimate was provided by Jay who happened to be in the area the day I called. He went through what they typically install and the amount of insulation recommended for the area and provided a written estimate. Installation was performed on the scheduled data, installers arrived within the time window specified. In fact, they arrived about 15 minutes from the start of the time window (about 10:15am) and apologized for being a bit late because they blew a tire on the way there (had to have a repair truck come while they were working)! Installers were very professional and courteous. Installation took only about 1 hour and they did a very good job of keeping the area clean. There was some vacuuming that was needed afterwords, but much less than I expected given how much mess insulation has been for me in the past. I would definitely recommend and use Carroll Insulation again.

Couldn't possibly have been better. They were quick to respond back for an estimate appointment, and were able to come out for the estimate within a day or so of the request. They were helpful in assessing the amount of insullation required, and checked out our ceiling can lights to be sure that the insullation would not block them and cause a fire hazard. The installers were on time, finished on time and cleaned up perfectly. No suprises, just want you want. I would definately use them again.

The salesman came out and analyze the amount of insulation in my attic and said that he would send me a quote via e-mail indicating the cost for installing insulation to bring the attic to R-42 with an option to go to R-49, which is the recommended amount for Maryland. On installation day, two guys showed up at the appointed time. They climbed up into my attic and installed the baffles. Then they ran a hose from their truck up through my bedroom window and into the attic access hole in my bedroom closet. One guy worked in the truck filling the blower, while the other worked in the attic. Once he was finished, he allowed me to go up and inspect the work prior to inserting the attic access panel (with a 15" batt on top of it) into the opening. They then cleaned up and departed. The company does not require a down payment and does not collect at the time of service; instead, they send out an invoice within a week following the installation.

Carroll Insulation provided me with good service. They coordinated very well with the company that was doing the siding for my house. They did all the work very well. They did the work within the estimated price. They made an estimate that was close to the settled upon cost. I talked to two people. The contractor worked with another person. I found that two of the three people were superb. One guy was a little slow in getting back. However, this didn’t cause any major difficulty for me. They were very professional.

They were prompt. They came on time. They cleaned up their mess. They were fast in getting back to me with an estimate and were prompt to give me an appointment. Their price was good; it was half of what other companies quoted me. The quality of their work was good and we were pleased with them.

Arrived as scheduled, and completed the job in a timely manner. They were relatively clean, but since we weren't in the home at the time, we were unable to point out any missed mess to the crew. Overall we were very pleased with the work and feel we received exactly what we paid for. I would hire them again if/when we have other insulation needs.
