I mean they did a good job, they didn't bother me. They were quite professional. I had no problems. (How clean did they leave the area) Perfect.

had a roof leak and thought I needed a new roof. call other roofer (as referred by BJ's) and all they wanted is to sell me a 50 year roof at $800 a square S&K came out and determined that the roof was in good shape and all that was needed was a minor repair(S) they also recommended that I have the roof re-inspected in 3 to 5 years. S&K Showed up at the scheduled time, and checked the roof and took photos and told me what needed to be done now and what other things that saw that they did not do (tuck point the brick chimney) I feel they are a honest company and would rather tell you the real story and are willing to build a relationship of trust Vs. just making a quick sale. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest assessment with out pressure.

This company's service was outstanding. The sale person came out, examined the roof, both inside and out. He was not pushy at all but clearly went over all the options. The company kept me notified of each step so I was never left in the dark. The work was done quickly and well. We are so impressed with our new roof! Plus, they cleaned up so well, you would have never known they were there (except for the beautiful new roof!). To top it off, their price was great and they even give an Angie's List discount.

We just had nine Vytex Fortis 5200 Series windows installed in our 15 year old townhome. The installation was done by Steve and Gary. We were so pleased with their workmanship, capability and overall professionalism that we have just placed an order for two additional Vytex 7000 Series patio doors. This was a project that we were going to delay until next year, but were so happy with the installation results of Steve and Gary, we elected to have them finish off this project this year. We are extremely pleased with the Fortis windows and look forward to our new patio doors by the end of the year. The service we have received from the initial sales call with Mark, careful measurements by Brad, prompt & efficient scheduling by Patty, the warm office greetings by Sissy and the top notch installation by Steve and Gary have really impressed us. The owner Don came out personally for an estimate and patched up my roof to prevent water damage and came back at a later time to fix it. He wanted to make sure water wouldn't leak through from the rain coming during the week. He also patched up a crack in my siding.

Excellent experience. They took the time to explain issues when discovered, answer questions and after the job was complete, the property was spotless.

We had siding and worry free gutters installed. The evaluation for the estimate was very thorough. Of all of the estimates, Mark @ S&K was the only one who looked in the attic, discovering that there were no holes drilled in the plywood for soffit ventilation. The estimates were competitive, the workers worked diligently for 10 hour days. They removed 2 layers of siding including 1 layer of asbestos shingles. The finished results are stunning. It looks like a different house. When I called to question something with the invoicing, S&K discovered that they had not given us the Angie's List discount. This saved us 5% and they didn't have tell us that this had been overlooked. Excellent work.

S&K came out and evaluated the primary problem. Shortly after, they came out and did a roof "tune-up" which included removing accumulated moss that was causing rain to back up into a vent. Additionally they put new flashing around fireplace and furnace chimneys. Leak fixed. Unfortunately the bill presented included some work that was discussed, but not really performed (new cover over furnace chimney). Mr. Sean Toms, S&K Assurance Manager then came out to review the situation. He agreed that the extra charge should be removed (which it was). In addition, he examined the secondary problem and determined that the gutter system (under life-time warrantee by S&K) was pushing shingles up. Mr. Kirk Phifer, Operations Manager of S&K's Gutter Division then came out to evaluate the problem and have his team remove the old gutter covering that was causing the problem. After letting the shingles relax into position, the gutter team returned and lowered the gutters and put new gutter covers throughout. NO MORE LEAKS ANYWHERE. S&K did a fantastic job, were dedicated to fixing whatever issues I had, were extremely professional, and all this for the original $485. I can't say enough good about this company. They win the Gold Medal every time.

From the first contact to the work completion, this company was extremely professional, on time and a pleasure to deal with. Scheduling was behind because of the heavy rains, but they were the most responsive and accurate. They cleaned up well, the work was done in one day, on schedule. Highly recommend.

Outstanding. Finished product exceeded my expectations. I requested a cricket around the chimney and they build a superb structure to prevent future damage from rainwater and debris. The siding, worry-free gutters and downspouts look sensational and work well. I highly recommend this firm.

Met with contractor on 6/22, signed contract gave deposit. Was told they were aprox 2-2/5 weeks out. Never heard from them after that. Called them on 7/25. At first no one could even find our info. Then finally the girl on the phone told me the sales person had never ordered the materials so they hadn't processed the order. At first she told me sales person was on vacation, then she said he was in but couldn't be reached. When I asked how long it was now going to take to get my project started she said she had no idea. I asked for a refund, she didn't even know how to do that. Finally I was told I could come in and pick up my check-really, I have to drive out and get my own money! Finally agreed to a refund via my credit card but was told that would take at least 3 days.

Attitude. Very if you don't like what we say go else where. Yep I did.

Roof: very efficient replacement of roof. Encountered one issue where we and the company learned the hard way that a new kind of vent shouldn't be used on a low-slope roof, but S&K dealt with it immediately and were very diligent in following up multiple times to ensure the problem had been corrected and that there were no further issues. Price seemed very fair. Door/siding: S&K took on a challenging project that several other companies wouldn't touch involving an old homemade addition from the original owners that desperately needed new siding and needed the back door and adjacent window reframed. The team uncovered extensive rot buried from view and covered up by later owners, which significantly complicated the project and doubled the cost, but the lead carpenter did a superb job fixing everything, patiently answering questions, and attending to minor details to make sure it all looked great. Price to quality ratio seems excellent, they seem to really care about the final product and having happy customers. Would definitely work with them again.

S&K responded promptly to my inquiry via Angies List (several other providers did not repy at all). The estimator Steve contacted me and came out to my house the next day. He provided a prompt estimate. I was then contacted by their operations manager and the repair work was scheduled promptly. The technician that came to my house was polite and professional, he completed the repair with no issues, it looks as if the damage had never happened. He left the area clean and tidy as he had found it and was on his way. Great experience all around, I was very impressed and will use them in the future for any of my siding issues.

Mr. John Watkins from this company did an outstanding job making the replacement siding look good, despite the age and poor condition of the old siding..

We had a leak on one side of our house. Water dripped down an exterior wall and soaked through our dining room ceiling any time it rained. We had three different contractors look at it, and they messed around, but admitted that they didn't really know how to fix it. This went on for months, with water coming through every time it rained. S&Ks sales manager, Shane, came out to look at it and seemed confident that they could fix it. I wasn't so sure, because so many other people had tried to fix it! Shane sent someone out (whose name I can't recall), and he did a fantastic job! Tore apart a suspect window and completely re-did it, and added some flashing that was missing along the roof line. He took photos to show us everything that he did. And complained about everywhere that he spotted shoddy construction. He was a real craftsman. And the roof finally stopped leaking! So Shane was right to be so confident in his team!

At first fine, but who goes on their roof. Recently ash like substance resembling sawdust has been pouring out of bottom of chimney. This is a highly corrosive combination of ash and water, explaining difficulty breathing. Apparently the really expensive chimney that was added lacked a proper fit, and moisture is pouring in and mixing with ash. I hope the roof, which has already had to be repaired once, isn't letting moisture in attic. I am calling a structural engineer to verify all of this work especially since they are all on vacation at S & K.

I had minor leakage on Christmas day. I logged a request for an estimate on Dec 26th, and got a call from Dane on the morning of the 28th. He came by at 4pm promptly, and inspected the attic and interior, then went up on the roof. He found cracked mortar, which I will get repaired by a chimney company (per his recommendation). I appreciate Dane's honesty, thoroughness and friendliness. This is the second time I have called upon S&K for help, and neither time did they get any work from me (the roof is actually fairly new). But that has not stopped them from helping me figure out what is wrong "up there near the roof", and I have never felt pressured to buy anything, nor guilty for having called them out to see what is going on. S&K has my business whenever it turns out to be a roof/siding issue!

Fine. Incredibly accommodating, but fraught with problems. My house ended up dramatically warmer, and when I asked if this might be related I got an endless run around. Finally found out that since my fan had been disconnected to improve venting, "it was obvious my house would be warmer". Not obvious to me. Cost a fortune to get a new fan installed. Months later my gutter cleaner said gutters were impossible to access since shingles covered the gutter. Apparently less than an inch of a gap. Now temperatures are dropping and gutters cannot be cleaned, full of leaves and muck that are freezing. I should have had an inspector check the entire job before I paid them, can't trust anyone.

The house is historic and had a slate roof about 90 years old. It was sad to see it go, but the time had come. They did the neighbor's side of the duplex at the same time. Some bad wood was replaced as well. It was great that S&K was able to properly upgrade us to a modern roof system. S&K submitted the paperwork, and we received a warranty certificate from Certainteed. They are a certified installer, so we have the 130MPH wind guarantee as well. No more checking the buckets in the attic in the rain, peace of mind in heavy winds, the list goes on. Our gutters no longer fill with heavy slate chips either. When asked about whether the gutters needed upgrading, The estimator suggested we wait until the roof was done. He mentioned that the majority of the time a great improvement was seen due to the roof replacement alone. In other words, they had the chance to tack on a job that was probably not necessary. They did not do that. The workers were fast, polite, and responsive to requests. Cleaned up beautifully, including magnetic pickup of the street. To me that means to tire repairs for myself and neighbors after this job. That has not always been the case after roof work on our block. Can't think of anything more, but I can't say enough about how happy I am with this job. By the way, did I mention it looks good too?
