They filed for bankruptcy No refund

+ -1 moreThe company has gone bankrupt! They stole over $23,000 from us and we have nothing to show! They owe customers over $500,000. They knew they were going out of business over a year ago. Never ever hire anyone by the name of Dave Barkley Jr., Dave Barkley Sr., or Cheryl Barkley. They are criminals and thieves!
Description of Work: A two story addition was to be built. Omega and their owner Dave Barkley never started the project, went bankrupt and stole our deposit!

+ -1 moreTore off back of house by end of October, and didn't return until end of December when water pipes froze and burst, flooding kitchen. This was after two large payments had been made. Not responsive to phone calls; drywall finishing inferior; inadequate heating and air conditioning units installed; incomplete exterior finishing; air leaks around light fixtures and electrical outlets; poorly installed thresholds. Not honoring warranty, no satisfaction in past 18 months to complaints submitted. General overall inadequate and inferior workmanship and unprofessional management.
Description of Work: Construction of an addition to our home consisting of 600 sq ft living area and a 400 sq ft sun room and wrap around deck for the sun room. This also included all electrical and HVAC for the new area. No plumbing involved. Drivit and Nalite are used for the outside finishes. A 6 foot extension of an existing concrete slab increased the width to 18 ft, and construction of a new block foundation for the sun room.

+ -1 moreOmega started out great guns. Even before we moved out, Omega began digging out the 15 ft. that would be the new basement area. Soon after we were out the framing for the 1st floor was in place. Omega moved on to demolishing the old roof so that the new second floor and roof could be added. After that, work began to slow. It took a while before shingles were on the roof. Water damage to the little remaining drywall happened due to lack of tarps. The house wrap was put on the house. We were told that windows & doors were on the way and then asked about 15 weeks into the project what kinds of windows we'd like. Omega couldn't start to drywall without the windows and doors. Work continued for a while. We are now living in our uncompleted house without a working kitchen and the cabinets are being withheld since Omega used our funds for other work. One of the 3 baths is complete at least. We need about 3 full weeks of work to finish, but Omega is stalling.
Description of Work: Omega was hired to do a significant remodeling job. A 15 ft. addition in the basement and 1st. Floor and a whole second floor with three bedrooms and walk-in closets. Stairs needed to be moved. Two and new bathrooms were to added and a 3 one remodeled. A complete new kitchen with new cabinets and appliances were to be installed. An existing bedroom was to be changed into an office and a smaller one remodeled. On the outside, new roof, siding, porches and a deck. To help Omega, we moved out of the house. This was to be 30 week project.
