There were several phases to the Home Depot Design and kitchen remodel:
1) kitchen layout and design performed by Laura Schneider of Eldersburg Home Depot. Assessment: the best design we had seen. laura clearly understood the aesthetic possibilities of the space we had and applied herself.
2) Cabinet installation Scoping:  Native Sons; assigned by Home Depot.  Assessment; Native Sons performed the intended job of assessing the cabinet installation, but could have easily detected an uneven ceiling issue which in turn could have been repaired prior to the cabinet and crown installation.  They did not detect the ceiling issue during scoping and that affected the installation of the crown.  Yes, levelness of the ceiling could/should have been determined and was not. The less than excellent marks in the evaluation are related to this. 
3) Cabinet installation:  Performed by Native Sons.  The installer (Brett I think) was fantastic.  Very hard working... very precise. 
So, for Home Depot:  A big star for design.  Underachievement for job scoping.  Good points for installation.

The staff fully discussed the selection of the doors and the processing of the paperwork to order the work done and cover all financial discounts possible. (I also opened an account to save as well.) The subcontractor called to schedule the time within two days and was willing to work with my re. time constraints. The service was scheduled within a week of purchase and the installer was prompt. He took great care to remove the old storm doors (w/o minor damage to front jamb - wood putty needed) and to install the new doors with as tight a seal as possible. He discovered the box for one door had been opened and a strip ruined. His boss brought another w/in the hour, but it was the wrong part. The technician returned to the store got a new part and finished the install. He explained how to care for and use the new doors. The price was great! The technician also looked at a problem with an existing patio door and helped correct it. He refused to charge me for this effort.

I DEAL WITH HOME DEPOT QUITE OFTEN AND AM GENERALLY HAPPY WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE PRODUCTS THAT I RECEIVE THERE. THERE WAS ALSO NO PROBLEMS WITH THE EXCHANGE THAT OCCURRED.
