Dave Hollenczer did the work start to finish, from assisting with architectural design to completion. His work is of the highest quality and he is finishing on time! It was a 5 month project from the date of demolition to move in. We moved out to another home because we were taking the 1st and 2nd floors down to studs, raising the roof and adding the master bedroom to the 2nd floor. The second floor was previously a half floor with a cathedral ceiling down to the 1st floor. The only floor that didn't need work was the basement which was already finished. He is knowledgeable and incredibly responsive and I recommend him highly. It was not an inexpensive renovation but the price was fair for the work that was done.

The job went exactly on schedule and they even added extras that we asked for along the way. We needed the job done so we could move back into the house by a specific date. Dave promised the work would be done and it was done on time! The work was done with great care and tremendous attention to detail. Everything is exactly as we wanted it. Dave was always available for questions and helped us with some great suggestions for changes along the way. His vision for the finished product helped to keep our fears and concerns at bay. We have only had a couple and I mean two things that we have had them come back for and they were both minor. We would definitely use Dave again and highly recommend Hollenczer for your next project.

Bo Hollenczer arranged for demolition of the old bathroom, reconstruction of an enlarged bathroom, tiling with carrera marble, plumbing, painting, glass for the mirror and shower, cabinets through Cabinet Discounters, and recarpeting of four rooms. Workers nearly always arrived on time, and completed their work in a timely manner. Bo kept all of this activity going on schedule and regularly called to alert us to what would happen each day. He responded quickly to every call that we made about a problem and quickly resolved the problem. Prices were reasonable. We are delighted with the final product. and wish that we had made the decision to get this beautiful bathroom several years ago.

Our latest project was the installation of a new front door, and everything went according to plan. Rating of B instead of A was due to the folks who did the painting--they spilled paint on the stone walkway and although they agreed to remove it there are spots still visible.

I would have this company replace our roof when it becomes necessary. I believe they are reasonable and from the information they gave us re: the condition of our roof presently and what would need to be done, their price was good.

Hollenczer Construction promptly responded with an estimate of work and came in under 1/3 the cost of another company. Instead of and quot;putting a band-aid on a balloonand quot; as David said, they were going to find the problem and fix it, which is exactly what they did! The estimate was the exact amount I paid even though I had added a few items to the list, so I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted all of the windows in the rear of the home to be caulked because the builder neglected to do this. I also had a leak at one of the windows, which they also fixed. The reason for the majority of the leak at the sliding doors was that the deck flashing above the doors had been installed upside down. The other reason was the builder had not installed the proper piece of siding to channel water away from the doors.The crew came out to begin work when they said they would and completed it on time.I had the most pleasant experience with these professionals from the start and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. In fact, after the work I have highly recommended them to others in my community.
One last note, I learned of them from a fellow commuter on the MARC train and now I am so glad our chance discussion resulted in my hiring the best construction company in my area!

These folks were great to deal with! We will certainly use them again, and soon.

The other two contractors never got back to us after our initial visit but even if they had, we still would have picked Dave. He listened to our needs an wants and the amount of money we wanted to spend and came through with a fabulous kitchen in 5 weeks even though we were delayed by our floor tile being out of stock and having to pick another tile and our exhaust fan no longer being manufactured.We would highly recommend Dave and his crew for their punctuality, neatness, and job well done. Our kitchen is Fabulous and the remodel was painless. We will be using him again when we remodel our bathrooms.Carol and Bob Davis

All work was performed on time, within budget and was of the highest quality.The house is now beautiful. David Hollenczer took care of everything as we had already moved out of the house and were a distance away.Throughout the whole process we were worry free with him in charge. Unexpected problems encountered along the way were discussed with cost effective solutions supplied and then efficiently taken care of. Look no further for a contractor. The company was very professional. They left our property in great condition and my tenant is very happy with the work. Once they started, they had coordinated with all of the contractors to get their work done on time. They handled everything including all trash removal from the job site. If we had a problem it was dealt with in a very timely fashion. All of his contractors were professional. Once the kitchen was demolished Hollenczer had all of the components placed in the property very fast and efficient.

Dave's crew showed up exactly when expected and put considerable care into putting down protective plastic on our carpets and a protective wall covering the bathroom opening to contain dust. All work was done efficiently and carefully, and great care was taken not to damage our home while carrying debris out and construction materials in. All of the workers and subs were professional and skilled, from demo to carpentry to plumbing to flooring. I would not hesitate to use Hollenczer Construction for future projects and would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

Dave and his crews were extremely responsive working to our schedule. The quality overall of the finished work is very high. Hollenczer Construction completed the work on time and to our satisfaction. We were pressed to get the work done before furniture arrived and they made schedule with several days to spare. Hollenczer Construction (Dave) gave us a very practical bid – items that we could spec were given a fixed price. Items like fixtures or flooring that we hadn’t chosen yet were given an allowance. As the work progressed, Dave wrote up change orders when we upgraded from the allowance. He also wrote change orders when we downgraded from the allowance or when I bought item included in the allowance. In other words, he reduced his price when we picked less expensive items! The whole project took about six months. I was impressed that subcontractors ALWAYS showed up when they were expected. Dave inspected their work and had any problems corrected before I ever saw the problem. His permanent crew did all the structural and finish carpentry – and you should see it! I am a perfectionist and the carpentry is perfect. When I saw the craftsmanship of the crew, I upgraded the trim around windows and doors because I know they could do it well. They even leveled the floors where the house had settled over the years. Dave listens very well to understand what you want and why you want it that way. If your idea isn’t practical, he will tell you what the problems are, what it will cost, and what alternatives are available. He even found a couple of areas of unused space and suggested adding closets. I wouldn’t change a thing. Several neighbors have hired Hollenczer Construction after watching our project.

I enjoyed an excellent experience with Hollenczer construction. First, the estimate correctly itemized all costs and the project was completed in six weeks on budget, exactly as promised. We were consulted and listened to for every stage in the project, including running complicated wiring for a future media room. Any time our selection would impact the budget, we were alerted that the budget would be modified slightly (e.g. $150 for a higher grade countertop) but these times were rare as the budget allowed selection of quality materials. Workers arrived promptly every day and maintained a clean work area. Throughout the project we were kept up-to-date with the schedule and when to expect particular tasks to be completed. We were very impressed with the attention to detail: recommending under cabinet lighting; using crown molding to make ductwork bulkheads more attractive; trim that perfectly matches what is installed in the rest of the house. We were even advised on materials that would work well with our young kids and cats, like carpet that cleans easily (and they were right, it does clean easily!). Finishing a basement can be messy, disruptive, and expensive. Hollenczer construction made the entire experience easy and we would recommend their work to anyone.
