John Russo addressed a crack in my foundation wall. He provided an estimate quickly and the work was done within my tight schedule. He and his staff were on time and completed the job as described. I would use his services again.

John Russo is wonderful to work with. From the first estimate, he was punctual, kind, and courteous. He walked me through exactly what to expect and told me where hiccups could happen from previous experiences. Especially since I was starting the permitting process in the middle of Covid. He was a big help with setting up appointments with the inspector and I have to applaud the inspector as well for being so helpful. And even the permitting process while a bit challenging at first for a newby, wasn't all that bad. Just watch the videos online and it walks you through the process. The job itself, John worked with me and the inspector to get me exactly what I wanted. He was wonderful with answering questions and very responsive. He has great ideas that helped to customize my driveway to fit my house and yard. He and his crew were always polite, professional and on time. They went above and beyond. They even made new friends with my neighbors little boys who were infatuated with the bobcat and cement truck. I would use John again in a second for any other job that I may have in the future. He's a true professional.

My front steps had to be replaced as they were pulling away from the foundation and were beginning to crack. John Russo explained everything he was going to do and encouraged any questions. His estimate was reasonable. He came when he said he would and his men were very efficient and cleaned up everything when they were finished. I highly recommend Russo’s Construction for your project.

John was very responsive to my calls, his crew arrived at the agreed time and did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves. Couldn't be better.

It is refreshing when the person selling the job is not only the foreman but also does a lot of work. John was constantly involved from building the timber retaining wall to being boot deep in concrete. Once the groundwork was laid out for the walkway and stairs, the original stair design was not going to work because the yard slope caused a greater than anticipated height difference between the walkway and the front porch. John proposed steps in the walkway or a timber framed raised walkway (which was chosen). John addressed all reasonable issues. After the timbers flanking the stairs were built, my wife and I noticed the top layer would block the view of a portion of the face of the porch to be covered with flagstone, so it was removed. My wife had an asthetic issue of balance for the right side retaining wall, so timber was added. Another asthetic detail my wife wanted was a curved cut timber piece to seamlessly extend the timber framing the walkway to the concrete curved portion. I knew this was an unreasonable request not in the job description. John did leave me a scrap piece so I can attempt to cut a curve in a 6 by 6 timber. Yikes! My eye for perfection did notice slightly uneven lengths between two timbers flanking a step, but John echoed my thoughts that cutting a small piece from the slightly longer timber could damage the timber beneath it and might not result in the clean cut that is currently there if hand sawn. The most impressive thing for me was the time spent after the concrete pour: troweling, edging, shifting/moving concrete to create proper evenness and grade, troweling, edging, troweling, control joint scoring, troweling and finally the broom finish. The flagstone turned out gorgeous. Overall, John was easy to work with and his crew was very professional. See pictures of completed project.

Price was very fair for amount of work provided. Work was completed on schedule. No change orders. Workers were polite, tidy, and considerate. Work was done properly and skilfully. Work site was left clean daily. Any requests were taken care of efficiently. No detail was forgotten. I highly recommend Russo's Construction for your concrete work. I cannot thank John enough for the great job he and his crew did on our house. Our new driveway has made our life so much better. The crew was punctual, organized, and super efficient. More importantly John was always checking on the work and I could easily reach him on the phone anytime I had a question. I cannot imagine hiring another contractor company after working with John!

The whole team showed up (including John Russo) and they executed all the work in just one day - which was great. Every other company I called said it would be a 2 day minimum job. I was really impressed to see John Russo (the owner) show up for such a small job. (I had assumed that after he came by to generate the estimate he'd just send a few of his guys out to actually do the work.) The work came out looking top notch -I'm very satisfied.

Mr. John Russo and his crew did a superb job on repairing the crumbling concrete wall around the exterior steps to my basement, and in replacing my old driveway and front sidewalk. Their prices were reasonable: $5,985 for removal of old driveway and sidewalk, and replacement with new, and removal of 2 very large bushes; $2,375 for repair of concrete wall. The work was done so professionally, and Mr. Russo communicated with me throughout the project. Also, they did a great clean up job of the site before they left. I've seen the excellent results of Russo's Construction jobs throughout my Laurel neighborhood over the years - I'm very glad I hired them for my job.

Everything went very well. It's always a pleasure when the guy with the best prices provides quality work and excellent customer service. The finished product looks great! They went the extra mile to make everything great. I would definitely recommend John for any of the different kinds of work they do.

For the Garage his crew did a fabulous job.  The area where the garage is now located had to have stumps removed, footers poured and the entire area had to be graded level.  The crew was on time every day, left the job site clean and did a truly wonderful job.  We had no issues with the project from beginning to completion.  In addition to the pad that John and his crew installed he made a recommendation on the parking area that saved us time and money, while at the same time providing a solution that has worked out great.  (roughly 9K total for the project)

For the hillside steps and the landscaping we had a 1/4 acre portion of our yard that had never been graded, was full of rocks and just a mess.  We never even called for bids from other contractors, we just called John again and asked him to come and take a look at both projects and give us a bid.  His bid for both and recommendations on how to address both problems were spot on.  We had worked with his team before and knew what kind of work they would do so there was no need to call anyone else.  The job started on time, his crew was professional and took care of our yard and cleaned up after themselves every day.  The work was phenomenal.  I can't say enough good things about the steps they installed.  We had no transition to the patio level from the side yard - basically we had a rather steep hill that was not easy to walk up.  John and crew mapped out the steps to include the curve at the top.  The dug out and used 6x6's for the front base a large flagstone for the top.  Grey dust was used in between the seems to bring the entire thing together and river rock was used on both side to tie it with the overall yard design. It looks like it has always been there.  The workmanship and pride is apparent.  (7300 for both)

We will absolutely use Russo Construction again on our next project.

John and his team did a great job on the sidewalk. John explained the job very thoroughly and went into detail about how he would install pier footers and rebar near the front door. He answered all of our questions before the job began. We weren't really sure what we wanted the new sidewalk to look like and John made great suggestions on what he thought would look best.
The new sidewalk is fantastic. John extended the front stoop so that it would be easier to get in and out of the front door, he gradually sloped the new sidewalk down so that we could eliminate the step we used to have by the door and made it nice and wide (42"). He flared the ends out so that the sidewalk was the full stoop width at the front door and wide where is met the driveway.
The crew worked efficiently and left the job site clean. I am very happy with the work and I would hire Russo's Construction again.

Russo and his team were prompt and thorough. John himself gave good, thoughtful advice, and he was flexible with the timing of payments once the work was done. He walked me through each part of the work they were doing and asked for my opinion/input at each step. Then, he did exactly what he said he'd do and left the workspace clean.
I liked everything about working with him and his team EXCEPT for how hard it was to get in touch with him and nail down a specific time for him to come by and get the work done. I will almost certainly seek his services in the future, but I will do so knowing that it will be a pain to get him on the phone.

Note that Russo is not an email guy, but if you call him, he will answer all your questions and get right over for an estimate.  He was onsite and helping with both the tear out and the pour and shaping.  His workers were considerate, responsive, and professional.  The job took three mornings: tear out and prep morning, pour morning, and clean up morning.  They even re-seeded the grass on either side of the sidewalk.  I am a pleased customer.

Our kitchen not only needed a total remodel but the concrete slab that is our first floor was very uneven.  We hired a contractor to even the floor and it was a disaster.  A few weeks after a new wood floor was installed, we noticed that the floor was very bouncy.  When we had a portion of the floor removed, we found tht the concrete had totally failed and was now reduced to sand - literally!  In a panic, we looked at Angie's List and found positive reviews for Russo Construction for concrete and foundations.  As one of a number of bids, John Russo came by and recommended a solution that was not the cheapest but VERY reasonable and had by far the best plan for saving our foundation.  He and his team came in, sealed the doorways to minimize dust, removed the old concrete, and poured a new layer.  He also brought in another contractor who was an expert at "feathering" the floor to ensure that it was perfectly level.  Due to the delays caused by the first concrete person, the work was projected to extend into a previously planned vacation.  John then took over management of the whole project, coordinating with the company that was doing the wood floor installation, and calling us periodically to tell us how the work was going.  When we got back, our wood floors were installed, everything was level, and the house was immaculately clean and dust free.  Russo's saved our project!!

I wanted to put in a cement pad but the PG county requirements prevented it.  A permanent cement pad had to be 20ft from my back property line which would put it inside my house.  The contractor suggested a compacted crushed rock pad that was technically not permanent. And it worked just like they said it would.  Great job.

It went very well. We had a bit of a problem setting a date for the work to be done, but that was due to the fact that Mr. Russo had a few other projects that he needed to complete first . Nevertheless, he kept in contact with us and assured us that he would do our work as soon as time and the weather permitted. When he finally did come, he devoted two  whole days to getting the work done. He had a very professional crew doing the job, and they left everything neat and clean when the job was done.

The project went extremely well. There were two teams of workers. First, there was the cement team, headed by John. John was very easy to work with and is a perfectionist. The work was done in a timely manner so that we could hand out candy to trick or trickers. Next, came the team headed by Vern. This team built the porch. Vern is terrific! He works very well with the homeowner and takes all your ideas into account and wants you to be pleased with the work being done. His team is very nice and professional. They are also highly skilled! We have had so many compliments on our new porch. I most certainly will use this provider again. They are not only good at what they do, but are also very honest and trustworthy. We can't wait to enjoy our beautiful porch more in the Spring. Thanks John and Vern!!

Mr. Russo was a good person to work with. I had thought I needed the work done by a certain date that was close at hand and although my plans changed, he was true to his word and made sure the work was done by the date I had requested. The patio did not look quite like I was expecting but I think what I had imagined would have been significantly more costly and I would not have wanted to spend more money so I am happy with what I have. The work was necessitated by the fact that even light rain was causing water and dirt come in under the basement door. We have not had much rain since the patio was completed but we had at least one real downpour and the area that had been getting wet remained bone dry, The work also included regrading the yard with the excavated soil and the yard looks much better since the job was completed. I am completely satisfied with the job and would use this company again.
