Rocky Gorge Construction LLC is a second generation family business consisting of the proprietor David Weimer and his seven year apprentice and daughter Nicole Weimer. David Weimer started Rocky Gorge Construction in 1986, after completing a four year apprenticeship with The Maryland Home Building Industry Association. This unconventional father daughter construction company has become a team that combines traditional building practices with fresh energy and innovation. They recognize that the greenest building is one that lasts and that using sustainable materials is part of their social responsibility. Rocky Gorge Construction LLC brings in licensed electricians, plumbers, and H VAC technicians as sub-contractors when necessary.

Services we offer

Our expertise includes large additions and whole home construction. As a sole proprietor for years, Mr. Weimer has experience with every aspect of the construction process beginning with conceptual drawings all the way through to the completion of the project. We also do all forms of home remodeling, window and door replacement, custom cabinetry, custom woodworking, and exterior structures including decks, cabanas, porches, and porticoes.

David Weimer is an experienced journeyman carpenter who was referred to me through a third party. I was not sure how I wanted to renovate the attic space I had demo'd myself in order to have it insulated properly. Mr. Weimer and his adult daughter, Nicole worked very well together to help me come up with a plan that fit within my budget and taste. They brought books filled with ideas and spent time discussing my house and my needs and wants. They know their business and were able to make suggestions and tailor the job quite well. For example, I mentioned an interest in repurposing materials and Mr. Weimer brought great ideas to the table. He re-purposed some sliding glass doors for the knee wall around the stairwell to let much light into the attic. It is sturdy, safe and tasteful. I have received many compliments already. I am very pleased with all aspects of their work and professional style. I hope to save money so I can arrange for a larger scale project I hav in mind
Description of Work: David Weimer is an experienced journeyman carpenter I located through a third party. Mr. Weimer renovated my attic. (Due to budget constraints) he drywalled the attic, installed a kneewall around the stairwell and built closets and a window seat. He helped me plan so I can have more work done easily such as constructing drawers, built-in bookcases or whatever the case may be to fit into the walls as my budget allows.There was a miscommunication regarding the closet doors and without a hitch, we resolved my concern to my utmost satisfaction. I am very pleased.
