Will Pinto, the owner, is one of the most capable, responsible people I've ever met, in any profession. His employees are very hard-working, very professional, and very competent. When things went wrong, Will made sure they were fixed quickly. When we needed a creative solution--there was a duct in a surprising place, for example--Will always found one.

Will Pinto, the owner of WWK Construction, is a sharp guy. He has a good crew of older and younger workers, many of whom have been with him a long time. His company works fast, is very thorough and responsive to home owners. Prices are excellent, too.
Will built our addition and did sundry other work in about seven weeks. The job might have taken other companies several months. In most cases his crew worked ahead of schedule and they showed good flexibility when problems arose.
After the work was done, a few minor problems cropped up and WWK construction addressed them promptly. Will Pinto is a very conscientious owner.
Will came highly recommended to me by my architect, who recommended that we not even bother to seek out bids. After seeing some of Wll's work and then experiencing it, I can see why. We are extremely happy with our choice of contractor and I would recommend him to anybody.

We were extremely impressed with both the speed and the quality of the work. And it's a pleasure to work with someone who takes as much pride in his work as Will does. The guy knows his stuff.
While we did have an architect, we relied heavily on Will's expertise and good sense. He has an engineer's mind, and it was pretty amazing to watch him solve tough problems of duct work, plumbing, and structural support. He prefers to have you purchase all appliances, cabinets and fixtures -- while he provides the labor and basic materials. So working with WWK will not be like working with Case. If your project involves a kitchen, you will need to make a lot of decisions. But with this approach, you can get top quality results at about half the price of a full-service design/build firm. For cabinets we worked with Montgomery Kitchens -- also a terrific outfit (and also a group that's worked extensively with WIll) -- and we followed Will's advice for most other vendors (all of whom knew him well). It's worth noting that Will is widely respected within the community of Kitchen/Bath suppliers/vendors.
You will also have to make decisions fast. Will works at a break-neck pace. As for his crew, he hires well -- although there is definitely a variation in quality between Will's guys and a few of the contractors he works with. For example, one of his electricians was not exactly punctual, reliable or customer friendly; his work was of good quality, but I would not hire him on my own. Just make sure that Will (or his brother, who works with him) checks everything. Will is highly demanding himself, so he will not let mediocre work slide. Several on his crew are truly exceptional, such as Danny, who did much of our tile work. Again, just make sure Will checks things himself. You do need to be fairly involved in the project, but you will learn a lot and get an excellent result at a very reasonable price.

As far as invoicing and estimates, Will handles most things himself, and he is highly professional and trustworthy. His business has grown rapidly through word-of-mouth, so the whole backend of the operation is not highly polished yet. Don't expect brochures and a lot of smooth salesmanship. But again, he's highly trustworthy.
We heard about him through a friend, we know several others who have used him and we have recommended him to friends and family (he is redoing my brother-in-law's basement right now).

WWK came highly recommended by our architect; they had worked together on several similar projects in the neighborhood. On this project, WWK appeared to be a highly organized and efficient contractor: the intervention of the various parties was well planned and coordinated. Will, the owner of the company personally gave detailed instructions to the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tile layers... and ensured that the work was carried out accordingly through regular visits. He was very responsive to our requests and that of the architect. He employed hard working professionals who knew what they were doing. WWK made sure that minimum disturbance resulted from their presence in our house and never left before cleaning the construction sites. The quality of construction was good and the two bathrooms and the powder room indeed look very nice. There are always a few glitches in construction projects; our project suffered from some delays due to a shortage of tiles, a situation WWK was not responsible for, however. WWK did not take advantage of this to initiate a dispute and request a change order.
We are always somewhat nervous when a contractor works at home. We must say that for this project we were more relax: the combination of our architect and contractor worked well.
We would not hesitate using again and recommending WWK for similar remodeling projects.

They were very competitive on price and they were prompt. They worked very quickly and were there when they said they would be. The downside was that the communication could be a little difficult but they did a good job. It was hard to communicate and get the owner's attention. They came highly recommended and they do a lot of work in the area. I had seen some of their work and it was very good. The owner was very reliable.
