Professional service, but more than double the price of other providers for identical service. MY GC booked them, and I was shocked at the bill. I called them to dispute and was told "we charge what we charge". You can find MUCH less expensive options for dust wipes and XRF. These guys charge substantially more than anyone I spoke to as I looked for another company.

I have contacted this company several times about to get lead testing and how to meet MD state standards. I used them in February 2018 to test a condo I am renting. The info provided was excellent and the the owner and staff very efficient in providing the needed services and results. I received the test results in less than 5 days.

Have used Whitehall Associates twice now for certified lead free inspections at different homes. Pete and his wife Sheila are wonderful. Very quick to respond, thorough, professional, trustworthy and kind. I highly recommend them for any home inspection needs. Great people!

We have been working with Pete to measure the lead levels in our house. The abatement process has been very complicated which is why we have asked him to come several times to inspect after our other contractors cleaned. He is easily available by phone, nice, and prompt. Both he and Sheila, in his office, are lovely. I like them both and would recommend them as honest people to work with.

The main inspector came out and was just very good. They exceeded my expectations. I could call him any time asking questions. He was very reasonable in only charging me to check the most likely places to test, which saved me money while still keeping us safe. He was very patient and great about answering any of my questions or concerns. I ended up not buying the first house I had tested, and I called him again to test the second house that I ended up buying. He was extremely knowledgeable and treated us very well. My realtor was so impressed that she ended up recommending him to all her prospective buyers.

The appointment went very smoothly. He showed up on time, we walked through the house and prepared for everything. He was amenable and fairly laid-back. The whole inspection was done in a few minutes. After another week or so, the results were back from the lab, and he sent me the certificate.
No drama, no issues, services delivered as expected and professionally.

Overall, the entire experience was great. After graciously rescheduling our appointment on short notice, Buford arrived at the house on time and ready to work. He and I walked through the house identifying the areas that we thought should be tested while I explained to him the long history of abatement activities my wife and I had already undertaken. He was sensitive to my cost restraints and didn't hesitate to tell me when he thought a test was unnecessary. Similarly, he suggested a few additional areas for testing that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. He also made a number of suggestions about how we might prevent further lead exposure in the future and/or abate it in a cost effective manner. He even offered to review our construction plans for lead issues when we go ahead with a renovation in a few months -- I would happilly pay him an hourly rate for this service. When it was time for him to do the swipes, I was perfectly comfortable to let him go through the house on his own. (BTW, I think he was trained as a chemist, so he has a very good understanding of how lead transmits through the environment.) When the results came in, he and I discussed them on the phone and he made a few suggestions about how to address the one or two slightly elevated lead levels, and by and quot;slightly elevatedand quot; I mean well below and quot;legally unsafeand quot; levels but still a little higher than he would like to see in a house with a young child; I definitely appreciated the follow-through here. The only small issue that presented itself was getting a hard copy of the test results: I had to call twice. But honestly, it was no big deal. Would I recommend Whitehall to my friends and family? Absolutely, and I would make sure they request that Buford does the tests.

The Good: Everything went fine setting it up. The inspector got me scheduled fairly quickly and showed up right on time. He used an XRF gun for the lead paint testing, so results were immediate. Everything was fine with the asbestos test. The Bad: The inspector didn't really seem to have much expertise to lend during the lead testing. I was hoping for some guidance on what parts of the house would be most likely to have lead paint (there were several renovations done to the house since 1890's). Since he had nothing to offer, I had every painted surface of the house we intended to renovate tested, and then a few other large surfaces (like the hallway etc.) to be thorough. He found lead only on a few places with original trim. Unfortunately they never provided any documentation of the lead test results, which I needed for EPA compliance for upcoming renovations. While the inspector was there, we even discussed the upcoming requirements and he said it's good I'm doing this now since I would have to do it then anyway. They actually sent me the lead results for another person's home, which I found unprofessional. The office manager was unhelpful and defensive when it came down to providing documentation of their tests. The Result: I have to spend another $500 on redoing the exact same lead paint tests Whitehall did last September. This is actually the only vendor I have had a bad experience with while purchasing and renovating my home.
