Wainwright's Lawn & Garden LLC

They have good communication, and quick service. They are reliable. I have used them for about 10 years now, and would recommend them. My parents use them as well.

This experience was ok but definitely not great. We will not be using Wainwright again. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the work done and the cost. We surveyed a number of different landscapers and Wainwright provided the best ideas and cost. The work on the patio was impeccable. We really appreciated the attention to detail in cutting the paver stones to fit perfectly around the deck posts that are in the ground and that an appropriate slope slanting away from the home was created to ensure proper draining during rain. They also took the time to stabilize one of the deck posts that had not been properly secured in the ground when the previous owners had a brick patio very poorly installed. 
The negative issues we had with Wainwright primarily center around communication. It often took days to hear back from them and it was difficult to to get information out of them. We often found ourselves having to call them to get updates on how the work was going. Although they were always polite and professional when we did connect with them, it was like pulling teeth to get them to tell us anything. We had to call to find out when the final day of work would be so that we'd know when to be home to do an inspection of the completed work. We even had to be the ones to ask about how final payment would be done. It was like they just expected us to assume that a bill would come in the mail (not the case with many contractors who expect to be paid on the final day of work after you have given your approval on the completed job). 
Overall, we were pleased with the work done but not so much with customer service aspect of the business. 
Additional information: During the week of March 11, 2013 we scheduled a 10:00am consultation for Monday March 18, 2013 to get a quote from Wainwright for work on our front yard that we want to have done this spring. It is currently 12:10pm on 3/18/13 as I write this review and they never showed  up and never called to say they'd be late, needed to cancel, etc. Since this is no surprise to us, we have not called them to see what happened. We were willing to deal with the poor communication another time to get the quality work and price again but this is really disappointing and further emphasizes that they do not put a priority on communication and customer service.

They were very good. They were very reliable and always did good work. Their price was also reasonable.

They come weekly and we are satisfied

This company is fantastic to work with.  Their work was first-rate and thorough.  They did a beautiful job with spring clean-up, diagnosed our runoff problems and designed solutions to remediate them.  It was a little challenging to get the work scheduled, but in fairness, any good landscape company is going to be overwhelmed in the spring, so that wasn't surprising.  They are coming back this fall to plant permanent grass and put the final touches on the runoff remedies they installed.  We can't wait to have them back!  We feel that our yard is in very good hands and look forward to working with them every year.

Wainwright's Lawn and Garden cuts our lawn every week when needed.  They determine (appropriately) when to cut and, when not to (if it's been very dry - or very wet).  They have been cutting our lawn for the last 3-4 years and do a good job edging and cleaning up after themselves. Chad Wainwright is very responsive to special requests and feedback. They also do leaf removal every year for us.  They are usually prompt about getting it done on a timely basis and do a good job when they finish.

They were very good.

Required multiple emails to get service scheduled, quality of work was acceptable but not outstanding. Price was fair for work done. Will probably look for another service to complete work next year.

I called these folks on Thursday and by Thursday evening I received a quote.  They did their first mowing the following Monday and I couldn't be more pleased.  They actually moved things and just did not go around them.  They also took care of mowing/weed wacking of tall weeds that my other company last year did not touch.  Also, did not leave clippings in mulch beds.  Very clean and tidy job.  What a pleasure to come home from work and see my yard.

We had Wainwright's Lawn and Garden do some substantial work in the back yard earlier this month in December.  We  had additional, similar work that needed to be completed on both sides of our house.   We were going to wait, but after their initial work, we could not bear to wait to do the work needed on the sides of the house.  The backyard looked so wonderful, we wanted the sides of our house to look the same! 

We asked Jeff for the estimate and it came quickly and they started the work within 2 days of providing us the estimate.  Jeff and his crew showed up on time every day and did an awesome job of cleaning up.  They did such an excellent job with the work that our next door neighbor requested some sod as well to make his side look as good as ours!

We have offered on both occasions to give them the payment early as we would not be home when they finished the work.  On both occasions, Jeff did not want to take the payment as he wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the work.  You gotta love a company that wants to ensure that their customers are satisfied BEFORE taking payment.  But having worked with them already, we felt confident that if something was not to our satisfaction, they would come and correct the problem. We will be asking Jeff and Jason to bring their crew back to do work on the front part of our yard, to complete our yard work! 

We hate writing this review as we are afraid they will be too busy to finish the rest of our yard!  We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jeff, Jason and their crew.   We will definitely contact them in the future for our landscaping and maintenance needs.

We had a built up retaining wall that was much higher than the level of our yard.  The previous owners did it themselves to create a garden and the workmanship and the wood were not of good quality.  It was an eyesore! The last big wind/rain storm resulted in the wood separating from its joints.  We were afraid that the next big rain would wash away our foundation!  We really needed to get this work done 2 years ago, but waited because we were not happy with the other contractors we contacted. 

When I called, Jeff came the same day to give us an estimate.  His final price for the work matched the other estimates that we had received.  However, the reason we decided to use Wainwright's Lawn and Garden was simply because Jeff took the time to look at our entire yard, rather than the work we needed done.  In other words, he cared about keeping the lawn healthy.  He made a few recommendations that were not costly but will likely save us money down the road.  We really appreciated someone taking the time to identify problems and recommend reasonable solutions. 

I received estimates from 3 other contractors.  The only reason I went with Jeff and Wainwright's was because they seem to care about the longevity of our lawn, not the profits in their pocket.  You gotta love a contractor who says: "If you go with another contractor, be sure to have them look at the potential damage from standing water."  In other words, it needs to be fixed, not necessarily by our company, but it needs to be fixed.

The started the work within a week of receiving the estimate.  The entire crew was prompt, professional and courteous.  They cleaned up everything so nothing was left behind except our beautiful lawn.

It took them about 2.5 days to complete the work below and we love the results!  We were happy to have found Jeff and Jason and their crew at Wainwright's.
1.     Remove existing retaining wall and fence
2.     Remove 2 azalea and 1 Burberry bush
3.     Install Delaware River Rounds over a 20 year weed blanket (area approx 16' x 20') and install metal edging between stone and sod.
4.     Bring in topsoil and regrade area discussed; add topsoil as needed to amend existing soil and install tall fescue sod (area approx 20' x 30')
5.     Build a 3' x 4' landing at back door. Landing to be constructed of flagstone set in stone dust and sand
6.     Remove dogwood from side of house (trunk to be cut as flush to the ground as possible)

This is the second year of this company working for us.
If I have a problem I call, and they address it.

I think they are responsible and reasonably priced. Also, Chad Wainwright offers great customer service.

It went great! A+  They were a bunch of hard workers! The material was delivered on time and was awesome looking. I couldn't wait to see the final result.  It took a couple of weeks , with the rain and all, but the end result was well worth it. I wish he was up on Angie's list sooner. My one dog even played supervisor the entire time and helped them dig in the dirt. They listened to me for the ideas and colors I had in mind, and the end result wonderful, and a great complement to the outdoor bar I put in. Now to find a place for a firepit........hummmm

Estimate was done quickly and was very reasonable for the large area we have.  Showed up quickly to do the work, and returned quickly to finish when they had to stop because of the weather.  

One call they came right away. Fast  esimate with disingn. great price for the amount of work we had done .Other companies cost twise as much they also told us we had to wait 4 months.
