The workers who came to my home to construct the deck and door/doorway were all professional and courteous. The project was completed in a timely fashion. The end door, doorway and deck are all lovely and well made. I was impressed by the fact that the owner of the company came out to my home personally to check on the work that was being performed. During one of the required County inspections on the work, I had the opportunity to speak with the inspector. Conversationally he asked who was doing the work and I told him. He then said that he was familiar with the company and had not had problems with the quality of their work. We have recommended this company to several of our neighbors and would not hesitate to contact them again for future work on our home.
Description of Work: We had a bedroom window converted into a doorway which then opened up onto a small deck, also constructed by them.

Aside from the whole shower leaking issue, the tile work is the worst I have ever seen. They do not know how to cut and lay the tile, especially on corners, but I was most shocked by their terrible grouting skills, cracks everywhere and they didn't put enough grout on the floor tiles, so you can see the tile edges. Where bullnose tiles should have been used, they opted for the wrong, straight edge tiles. But the I could care less attitude I received from them was the worst part of the whole experience. They tried to get out of doing work because I was not the original owner, I had not signed the contract, etc. They tried to make me feel like it wasn't their obligation to stand behind their work, as if they were doing me a big favor when Maryland law requires 1 year warranties. Well, the only thing they did for me was show me how little they know about remodeling bathrooms. It takes specific skills when dealing with water exposed rooms, skills they do not have!
Description of Work: The previous owners of the house remodeled the MBA March 2005. Based on the copy of the contract, the bathroom shower, tub surround, and floor was re-tiled and the vanity was replaced. I bought the house soon thereafter, but did not move until Sept. 2005. The previous owners must not have used the shower post-renovation because within a month, the shower was leaking into my kitchen. I called the company to have them honor the 1 year required warranty. The company came to my house to fix the leak and cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling. After allowing the water to run for a few minutes, they determined that the shower drain wasn't leaking and made no efforts to find any other cause. I mentioned the grout erosion spots, and it was a struggle to fix that! Rather than proactively finding cracks and missing chunks, I had to point everything out, the supervisor had left, and they did not speak English. Twenty hours later, I checked the grout and when touched, it became a pile of sand.
