Sometimes you leave a message and they don't get back but they finally do. That's the only thing. Service is really good. The work is really good but sometimes it is a little difficult to get him to come out here. I never have thought his prices were bad or high. The quality is wonderful. So see I am willing to put up with not getting back to me immediately because his work is really good so two out of three. Once he says he is going to come, he does come.

Jim was called on Thursday mid-afternoon for an estimate on repairing or replacing the existing HVAC system in our home. The furnace fan motor wasn't working at all. We set an appointment (no charge for an estimate, btw) for the following day, but Jim called later that same afternoon and asked if he could swing by in 10 minutes, as he had finished up a job in the area earlier than expected and was available. He arrived as promised at about 5:30pm and immediately went to work. After telling him that our system was 24 yrs old and that we had already been told by Cool Breeze Heating and A/C that our unit may have serious issues and should be replaced, he removed the gas burners, cleaned out the heat exchanger and burners, and told us that the unit appeared to still be in very good condition. He then tested the motor capacitor and found it to be defective and offered to replace it on the spot to see if the motor was still operable. We told him, since the motor was also 24 yrs old, that we would like it replaced as well. Since he stocked a wide variety of fan motors on his truck, he was able to install a new motor and capacitor right then and there!!! The bottom line is that he came to give a free estimate and was able to clean and repair our HVAC gas furnace, all in one trip and for less than all of the other companies quoted me for just replacing the motor and capacitor. Would we call on Sierra again for their services? In a heartbeat!! He was great!!

We have used Sierra twice now. When we had this recent problem, we went back into our records to try to find the name of this company because we were pleased with the service the previous time. We called first thing in the morning and they were able to come out the same day that we called. My husband has met with him both times and he was prompt and courteous. He explained the problem well and gave us a couple of options to repair the problem. We were again pleased with the service and will definitely use them again.

My 1980s furnace was sporadically not functioning. Sierra came out to look into the issue. The problem being intermittent it didn't happen when they were there. They did take the time to explain what could be causing the problem and make some suggestions on what to try. They also cleaned and oiled the furnace. The problem has not resurfaced.

Sierra could have make an expensive repair on an aging system, but instead honestly waited until a clear issue presented itself.

They are always a pleasure to have in our home: very respectful of our floors, our furnishings, our pets. Simply put, they are real professionals!

Work was fine. They want to come out the minute you call them - which most people would think is great, but it's tough to work that out if you don't work at home and Sierra wants to come to your house at 9 AM the next morning. When I tried to schedule a more reasonable lead-time, the service person was clearly frustrated. He did a fine job of the work (everything was ok)... but this particular service person has zero people skills.

Sierra typically service my HVAC equipment. When the AC went out on the hottest days I called them. They responded immediately and came by to fix the problem. They were unable to get my AC repaired and did not offer to do a leak detection. While I expect that not all problems are fixable, I do expect more of an analysis than "Its most likely....." I'd like to know what the problem is.I won't be using them again.

I remember having called them once on a Christmas morning in 1996 or 1997 and they had come despite it being two degrees outside. I have used them ever since. They come when I call them and their pricing is very good. They are very professional. I have recommended them to my friends as well.

My furnace broke down again. Jim Sierra came out the same day and installed a new unit the next day. This was the middle of December so urgent.

Sierra, as far as I can tell, is a two man operation. It's very difficult to work with them unless you can accomodate their schedule. When you ask him when he can come out, you'll get an answer like "Oh...maybe Monday or Tuesday". Then he'll call you out of the blue and ask if you're at the house right now. Even though I've explained numerous times that I can't be home at the drop of a hat, he continues to do this. He's very reluctant to committ to any specific appointment times. To his credit however, when I force the issue he does show up when he says he will. For me, it's just gotten too tiring to work with them. Also, their prices seem high. I paid $235 for a simple A/C tune-up where very little was done other than changing an air filter and adding a little freon to my system. They were at my house for exactly 20 minutes. I realize that freon is expensive, but $235 seemed excessive.

We just never heard back from them. We did try to communicate and they sent someone else out, but there was no follow up.

They stayed within the estimate and they do excellent work. They were careful of the plants around the unit. We were surprised because when they gave you a time they were early.

Excellent! Victor and his crew were personable and professional. I hardly knew they were in the house. They were willing to move the furniture out to get to vents, etc. Victor took the time to show me my dryer vent output and observed that part of my vent coil was not up to the current "fire code" in Montgomery county. Fire is a big concern for me! Victor said he has been cleaning vents for over 15 years. I currently use Sierra Heat and Cooling (a different crew from the air duct cleaning) and have dealt with them for about 3 years now (very happy with that, too!).

This company showed up on time and did an excellent job. The person who came to do the job was knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic about what he was doing. There was a pump in his truck, and he ran a flexible hose from the pump through the door on the first floor (into the basement) and through the window on the second floor (into the attic) to vacuum the ductwork. It took about six hours to clean both systems. We had just installed brand new hardwood floor in our home, and the technician and his helper were very careful not to damage the floors. They also took extra time to clean out the dryer duct for no extra charge. This was a delightful experience.

He's a bit disorganized, but EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. He's never tried to sell me products or services that I don't need to line his pockets. It's just a one-man company, so patience is occasionally required, but I have gone to him again and again for HVAC issues in my condo. I am still calling him for help now that we've moved into a single family house.

Heater stopped working on a very cold Saturday. I have small children and was panicked. I contacted Sierra in the evening, and he was out the next morning. *I said we could make it to the morning. He said he was very busy but would be here as quickly as possible, and he was! This is the 3rd time I have had them out. It is pretty much a one man company, and I have never been more than pleased. Very honest, and he does not recommend unnecessary work. Very knowledgeable.

PRICE WAS SOMEWHAT EXPENSIVE BUT DONE ON TIME AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. THIS COMPANY PICKED UP THE PIECES AFTER ANOTHER COMPANY DROPPED THE BALL AND COULD NOT FIND THE PART. SIERRA FOUND THE PART IMMEDIATELY. AND WHEN YOU HAVE NO HEAT AND IT IS COLD OUTSIDE, TIMELINESS MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I'D CALL THEM AGAIN WITHOUT HESITATION. EVEN IF IT COSTS A BIT EXTRA.
