Description of Work: We dropped off our 11 y/o Lexus for a 100,000 mile maintenance check up. We also asked them to evaluate the car for a recurring problem with a belt. This is the first time we went to Satellite. We chose them based on the Angie's List recommendations and the fact that they only work on Toyotas and Lexus cars. They looked over the car, replaced the belt, and made reasonable recommendations. Just before we went to pick it up, they did one final inspection and realized the belt they had replaced started fraying again at higher speeds. |We have had problems with the belt for a couple years and had replaced it 3 times. They weren't sure what the problem was but they worked diligently to figured it out. We think the problem began when the car dealer tried to make the belt fit when they did not have the correct size in stock. |The fix ended up costing us more than we planned but we know it will save us money in the long run and it is finally fixed for good. In the past all the other mechanics just replaced the belt and did not seem to care much about why the belt had been replaced so often. Statellite Motors took the time to figure out what the problem was and solved it. |Overall we thought the prices were fair and we were impressed with their experience, knowledge about cars, and thoroughness.

Description of Work: We were very pleased with Satellite Motors' work and professionalism on our 2000 Camry, and we plan to continue using them in the future. We have been to a few different mechanics over the years, and this was by far the best experience we've had in terms of an understandable explanation of the condition of the car and the pros and cons of putting money into different repairs.

 + -1 moreOver the years, these folks have done warranty service (parts are free; labor isn't), routine service, recommended other car service specialists to me--they've done it all. I cannot recommend them too enthusiastically.
Description of Work: I've been a customer for 25 years, & this time I was reminded why: they fixed for free (this damned system won't let me put down 0) a cracked gearbox caused by employee carelessness two years ago & offered to get me a rental for the time it took them to get the part. They didn't have to do this & indeed had they blamed me & charged me, I'd not have known the difference.

 + -1 moreThey give very accurate estimates. They do let me know when something should be done soon, but do not force it so there isn't a giant bill. They do keep me updated on all the work I have had done and what needs to be done in the future. The repairs are done very well. They are very pleasant to work with.
