Last year, Hansen was fine. They did our pool opening and closing and provided weekly services as well. This year, they opened our pool and it has been a disaster. First, I was told that we needed a new filter piece that would cost approximately $25. Two days later, we received a $568 bill for that plastic piece, and were told that we gave permission for the repair. How is approving a $25 repair permission for a nearly $600 expenditure? And how did a plastic piece turn into a 5 item bill? I question the business practices of Hansen. We found a new company, and quickly fired Hansen after this event. The new company just reported that our pool had NO CHLORINE, that the PH levels were so high it would cause skin irritation (which we felt while swimming), the booster bump was set up backwards so that it was running all day, the pool needed to be re-shocked, and that all of these things needed to be fixed. The new company is fixing them - cheaply, and in a transparent and honest manner. If you are looking for a company to service your pool, I highly recommend going with a different company.
In addition to this particular job, Hansen Pool Service has provide ALL service to our pool for the last 13 years. Overall, they do a good job, but once or twice workman have slipped up. In one instance, it was unclear if his workmen made a mistake or if the problem we experienced was due to old pipes rupturing. In any event, it was an expensive repair, and Rogen Hansen worked with me on the price. If I have a complaint, I feel very comfortable talking to Roger Hansen about it. He is a fair man and we have been able to work any issues out amicably.
His pricing seems very fair also, based on the flyers I see from other pool companies.
