Riccardo's Construction

Everything went well. Mr. Riccardo was pleasant and informative thru the entire project from demolition to building and finishing touches like window trim and lighting. His staff was pleasant and barely took any breaks. They showed up on time in the morning and finished mostly in the evenings. Given that this was my first major home remodeling/building project, Mr. Riccardo walked me thru everything from what materials to purchase through the all inspections...including the final inspection. It was very pleasant working with he and his staff. I have other projects planned for Riccardo Construction.

Great! The workers were on time and respectful of my furniture for the indoor work. The contractor was a good problem-solver. I felt like he could do anything.

Dishonest Riccardo's Construction was one of the companies that was selected for me by Angie's List when I said I was looking for a contractor to build me a new raised deck in my back yard. I provided Ricardo detailed plans, specifications and photos of exactly what I wanted done and where. Ricardo responded with a estimate of $12,000 which, although not the lowest, seemed reasonable so I invited him to stop by and take a look of the proposed build site in person. Ricardo stopped by one early morning and was pleasant. He offered some information and advice on certain details and even offered to install a new French door for free (provided I buy the door, of course) in an opening that currently has large door sized windows. We went over the details of the original information I sent to him, none of which had changed. A few days later (eventhough he had promised it the same day) I get a new estimate for approximately $13,500. Not only had the actual construction cost gone up to about $12,600, but he also added a charge of $500 for a permit, fees and plans and an additional $350 to install the French door. I was annoyed by this unexpected increase but decided I could live with it given that he seemed to know what he was doing. ...but then, going over his estimate, I saw that he did not include a very important component of the construction (underdeck rain cover) - a component that was included in both my original plans sent to him AND one we discussed during his visit. I inquired about this - by email and text message - and got no response. A few days later I get another estimate for $16,000 with a note saying that "if I can find this for a cheaper price, that is what I should do"! This was outrageous as I found all the materials on the Home Depot website (and a step by step YouTube video) that demonstrated how this underdeck cover and gutters could be installed for under $500. I found Riccardo's Construction to be unprofessional, sneaky and rather dishonest. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company.

Ricardo and his crew were incredibly easy to work with, professional and courteous. Their work is impeccable! My deck was falling apart and needed to be replaced. Ricardo made great suggestions and followed through with everything he included in his estimate. Overall, I am very pleased and will use him again for other projects.

Amazing job! Price quoted was extremely reasonable and the scope and specifics of the job were thoroughly discussed. Job was done quickly and the results were even better than expected!

He was extremely honest. He treated the project like he was doing the work at his own house. He had great ideas, that helped make the project better. His employees/workers were extremely respectful and polite to my family. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I wished I could give him an A+.

It went good. They came every day until the job was finished and I'm satisfied with the work.
