Storage
Everything went fine at first. Very helpful. Rented a unit to store furniture while having new home built. Went back after a few months to add some furniture and found water on top of new Ethan Allen table and some chairs. Went to notify personnel and was told that my unit had leaked on the previous renter as well. When a second employee came over to see what was going on, he was surprised to hear it was the same unit that had previous water leak, that he too was aware of. So, everyone knew about the leaky unit but me! When I went to management they told me to submit my insurance claim and if short to get back to them about making up the difference. I thought this was reasonable. Once I got my insurance claim paid they had a change of heart. They did nothing to help. They said i should have had more insurance in which I replied, you should not have rented out a known unit that leaked after rain. I removed all my furniture and went to Extra Space Storage on Dino Drive in Burtonsville. What a difference! Very clean, well lit, nice carts to use.....the difference between night and day! The unit was dry and clean. They were also less expensive.
I was extremely disappointed that I ever used the Public Storage facility. "Buyer Beware" if you choose them. I almost forgot to mention, that when I discovered the leak at public Storage they brought me  to another unit down the hall to move my furniture in. They opened that unit's door and ...yep, water on the floor! Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this facility like the plague. I lost a $4,500 Ethan Allen dining room table due to water damage as well as a few smaller Crate and Barrel pieces of furniture all due to a water leak in the roof after a heavy rain.
