Next Day Blinds

This company is a prime example of what is wrong with American business today. They take a simple problem and make it into a bureaucratic pain-in-the-neck for the customer. I bought blinds from them (won't do that ever again). There is a string that hangs down from the top of the blinds that you use to raise and lower them. Actually there are two strings close together that hang down from the top assembly, but about half-way down they are consolidated into one string by a simple plastic clamshell they call a "consolidator". The two strings from the top and the single string at the bottom are held in by simple knots or little plastic washers that prevent the strings from pulling through the small holes in the clamshell. My problem is that this clamshell now comes apart when I pull down on the string to raise the blinds. I am 100% certain that the only problem with these blinds is that the clamshell has become defective. And the only connections between this clamshell and any other components of the blinds are the strings. But I have now been told by both their customer service line and by this store where I bought the blinds that my only option is for me to uninstall the blinds, get in my car and bring the whole thing to the store where I bought them, and the store will send the blinds back to the factory for repair!!! Really, when all they need to do is send me a replacement clamshell? I will just glue the defective clamshell together rather than go through that time-consuming aggravation, including taping paper over my bedroom window to keep out the morning sun while I wait for the repair and then find a time that fits my schedule and their store hours to drive back to pick them up, and then reinstall them. Shame on them. Unless you really need blinds in one day, there are other places to get them cheaper and without such nonsense.
