Midas Silver Spring

I made an appointment via the internet, but when I arrived they had no record of it.  I had to wait nearly an hour with only one car in the shop before being called.  They said it would take 1 1/2 hours to finish repairs.  I asked them to call me when finished and I left the shop for home.  I called them about 3 hours later and they said it still wasn't complete, but should be ready in another hour.  I didn't receive a call, so I called them after another 3 hours and they said it was done.  I asked why they hadn't called and answer was they had said it would be ready in another hour after my previous call.  When I went to pick it up, they hadn't serviced the A/C.  I asked them to do it then and they said they would.  They charged the A/C in about 45 minutes and I took the car home.  Several days later I noticed the "key" for the wheel locks was not in the trunk.  I had to return to the shop and again and ask if they still had it.  The manager told me it was in the drawer.  No explanation why they didn't call me when they discovered it.  I also noticed they had damaged the lugs nuts and over tightened them.  All in all I wasn't very happy with their lack of professionalism.

Predatory and dishonest.    Unauthorized services performed:   Valvoline Power Steering Flush - $99.95 Manufacturer’s (Honda) recommendation – Never do this!  NEVER!   Valvoline Brake Flush - $69.95 Manufacturer’s recommendation – Once every 3 years.   Valvoline 3-part Fuel Injection Cleaner - $139.95 Manufacturer’s recommendation – Never do this!  NEVER!   To make it worse the Acura Owner’s Manual says if these services are performed without using Honda fluids:  “ALWAYS use Honda Power Steering Fluid.  You may use another power steering fluid as an EMERGENCY replacement, but have the power steering system FLUSHED and REFILLED WITH HONDA PSF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.” Now I must have this work redone with the proper fluids.   I will not pay for these Unauthorized services.

They're very punctual and forthcoming. This is all based on the staff that was there at the time, so it could change over time.

I called Steve in the morning after taking my car to the dealership and getting a quote on having brake work done. Steve did a little leg work to get me a really good price and then went the extra mile to hunt around for my lost wheel lock (thanks costco)
