Initially things went well with this contractor which helped us choose Marvin General Contracting for our home remodel. Then issues starting to arise such as poor craftmanship, super poor communications, not fully completing items and saying these item created by his workers can be add to a punch list at the end of the project, not keeping appointments, unable to follow county inspectors instructions to pass permits. Now I am finding out there were corrective orders issued by inspectors but not corrected by the contractor and this contractor simply moved on with the project installing drywall everywhere covering up what the order was for. Now the contractor is pretty much ghosting us and demanding we approve a change order for over $32K for work he completed without presenting a written itemized change order. When we review the charge order he finally sent the amount of money is ridicules and the work should of been part of the original remodel. We feel now since he is starting his own house flip he has focused even more away from our project. We really do not know how we can complete our remodel project of my childhood home. There is still so much work to do and this guy Marvin Ramero thinks its a joke. He also cannot provide a document on where all the money we have already paid him has gone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!

Marvin and his team did a wonderful job working on our home. We bought the home as is in a foreclosure and we needed to have it renovated badly. There used to be a bad stench when you walked in and holes in the walls in multiple places. When all the work was done we walked in and there was no more funky smell, it was like a brand new home! Marvin worked closely with us to ensure that our vision came to life. Anytime we needed to communicate to him he was there and even if he missed a call he would contact us back in a timely matter. Marvin also made sure through out our renovation that we were satisfied with the work. In this industry it’s hard to trust just anyone and Marvin is actually a really good person he’s not a sleezy contractor like many you can encounter! He stands by his word and we really appreciate and respect that. Marvins crew were also gems! They were very nice to us and when we had questions if Marvin was not there they helped answer them. I would definitely recommend Marvin and his crew to anyone looking to do work on their home! I think our home will appraise for far more than it did now that’s it’s so beautiful. Thank you Marvin and your team we really love our forever home!

We are very satisfied with the basement renovation work performed by Marvin General Contracting LLC. We took 4 bids on the project. Marvin General Contracting was selected based upon Marvin’s overall knowledge of what needed to be done, his ability to meet our completion date, and affordable price. His team arrived with mask and worked with mask throughout the project. Demolition started as scheduled and the debris was removed timely. An on-site supervisor was always present and Marvin regularly stopped by to check the work and touch base with us. The work was on schedule and within budget. The quality of his work is excellent, and we highly recommend Marvin for your next home improvement project. We would hire him again.

It went really well, from the first meeting, during the project. Marvin was there all the time supervising, and directing his crew, which they did an excellent job. I was informed about every detail during the work. I was very happy, thank you.

The project was completed on time and within budget. The workers were courteous, professional (and each day they cleaned up the work areas before they left). I would definitely hire them again.

It went great! Marvin was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, cooperative, honest, and reliable. He offered a lot of useful suggestions. He did a beautiful job on an older home that needed a lot of work.

Marvin and his crew do beautiful work for a reasonable price. They are flexible and stay in touch during the whole process. They were extremely helpful in so many ways and made the experience really easy and painless for us. I highly recommend this contractor and his workers. We are so fortunate to have worked with them!

Marvin and team transformed a small, unfinished room into a beautiful extra space. Great communication before and during project. On-time, polite and respectful crew. A tricky project turned out great. Fair price for good work. Framed the entire room for insulation and new drywall. Moved some plumbing and created a small closet to hide the hot-water heater. Removed old floor and laid the tile we picked out. Stripped old stucco and restored brick interior wall. Moved some electric and installed new lights, switches, outlets. Replaced exterior door and removed old interior door and re-framed opening. Would definitely hire again!

The contractor seem knowledge at first but it was the little things that begin to add up wrong address on the contract, even though I sent a email with correction. amount on the contract open for more than what we agree too. Even with these things still proceeded with a deposit. He set a date to show up with door he measure twice he came on the date promise with a wrong measure door, four workers. the following week couldn't give date for the job to be done. My wife and I are very pleased with the final results of Marvin's total exterior (front, back, and sides) sprucing up work. Although we're not planning to sell our home for at least another five - seven years, it now looks like it could command top dollar on the market right now. Plus Marvin and his staff are friendly, efficient, hard working, and professional in their approach.

It was an OK experience, not the best. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't do it. They had some problems with the tile, it just did not come out right and the painting was not done very well either. I told them I expected them to clean up and I had covered all the floors myself, and they did minimum clean up.

Marvin and his crew are wonderful to work with. I was 2 weeks from my due date when they started the closet and tiling projects and worked until 9 at night and on Saturday just to be sure that they finished the job before the baby arrived. I was really pleased and thankful for their special attention to our timing and scheduling needs. The retaining wall project was huge and they did a fantastic job with the removal of the existing concrete wall and the replacement. Marvin also secured all of the permits for us. The wall required that a deep trench be dug and to do so, they did need to work in our neighbors yard. When the project was completed, they carefully cleaned both yards and seeded grass seed in both yards as well. They were prompt, courteous and communicated well with us regarding the status of the jobs as we went along. I'd highly recommend their company.

Overall it went fine - some communications challenges were a bit annoying - but overall went well. End price was higher due to additions to the work - the insulation and the painting of a large area.

The workers were friendly and polite, but one of them spoke no English at all and the other only spoke some. They could not understand several of my questions, such as "Did you see any mold in the attic?" and "Are you going to insulate the ducts?" They brought their own extension ladder and power tools to work on the roof, but for some reason they had to borrow my ladder and my utility light to work in the attic. When finished, they had done the job only as well as I could have done it myself, and that's not why I hired them. For instance, they put too many curves in the ducts, which will slow air flow and encourage condensation to form in the ducts and trickle back down to the bathroom fans. It appears that they installed the roof vents correctly, and as long as they don't leak I'll be happy with that portion of the job. However, when the attic cools down in the fall, I'll have to go up there myself to finish the job by straightening the ducts and insulating them.

Outstanding. His teams were proficient, efficienct and professional. They had the sheets hung in less than 3 hours and their lighting holes were clean and tight. The tape/mud team was done with the first coat in a few hours and sanding on the second day was minimal due to their smooth work the day prior. Next, the painter was meticulous and touched-up the walls where needed. They even replaced the recessed lighting & sprinkler caps and removed all the waste with many bad experiences under my belt, I was extremely impressed.

Mr. Romero completed project on time, despite his being out of the country for at least 7 of the 14 days he had my project. His on-site employees were very competent, though their lack of English made communicating difficult. The tile man and plumber are to die for, there work is that good. And any communication problem was easily resolved by calling office and speaking with Corrine or calling the foreman, Juan or owner Marvin. Even when not able to speak with someone always right away, you don't worry because they will get back with you before end of workday.

Our entire experience with this company was truly, EXCELLENT!!! We were so blessed to find this company, the RIGHT company to handle such a major job as ours. From the beginning when we met Marvin, the owner, he was very professional, punctual and knowledgeable. Constant communication was never an issue. They were ALWAYS available. He understood the scope of the project showed a calm confidence. His ideas were great and he just made me feel comfortable right from the start. But most of all, I liked his motto,"we do the job right the first time". We shared our home with this crew for 5 1/2 weeks. We actually hated to see them leave. From start to finish, this crew of 4 men headed up by Juan, was ALWAYS ON TIME, everyday without fail. They worked consistently and diligently for 10 to 11 hours everyday. It was a lot of work to do and they were so fast. This company is not your "typical" contracting crew, these men all share a wonderful, nice spirit about them that you can really feel.

Marvin was the only contractor I had an estimate from. I contacted several companies from this list. Many did not do work in my area. Two that showed up never got back to me with an estimate even when I called a week, or so later. One contractor never showed up. Marvin arrived exactly when he said he would. He was very informative and helped me understand what I actually needed as opposed to what I thought I needed. Since I didn't need as much done as I thought, I was happy with the price, and didn't bother contacting more contractors. His workers were prompt, polite, fast and neat. We had several heavy rains after the work. My basement and porch are dry and rain no longer splashes out the gutters, or pours down the side of the house like a waterfall.
