Overall went okay; he would fix items where work was not up to my expectations, even going back a second or third time if I was not satisfied with results. His oversight of his sub-contractors was good, but in a couple of cases his subs also had to come back and do work over because they didn't get it right the first time.
He is an honest contractor and wants customers to be pleased. I found his prices reasonable. Very important to establish expectations in terms of quality of work and detail what work is to be performed prior to signing an agreement or contract. A fair amount of the prep work for the job was already done; we hired JB's Contracting because we had to get the project finished so my mother-in-law could move into the unit.
I stepped in and did additional prep work, however, when needed so project would stay within the original contracted price. Example: I had to grind down high spots in concrete basement floor so linoleum would lie flat and not buckle. Roughness in floor was not something we talked about prior to signing contract or prior to his subs getting in and painting the room after installing the drywall (wall and ceiling framing for drywall had been done by another contractor, not JB). Had I not stepped in to fix the floor problem (used a portable grinder with water to keep dust down; also had to put up plastic on walls to protect new paint job) before tile was put down, installation could have been a problem.
Despite this, I would hire again since I think his pricing is fair and wants customers to be happy with finished results.

We got the job done in the time specified, which was good. Would have preferred if he paid closer attention to details not right. He did fix on second time around, however. His tile workmanship is good, also very good job done trimming out replacement basement windows. He's very time concious, which is good. Considering all the things that can go wrong on a job such as this, we did okay with JB Contracting.

They are a small company and pretty reliable. We called them and they came over with the estimate. They are very reliable people. We would use their services again in the future.

We were extremely pleased with the whole process and the results. JB came on time and work was done efficiently and in a timely manner. JB informed us that the job would take 4 weeks and it did. JB kept us in the link regarding progress of work. JB was extremely courteous and repectful. We plan to use JB again on a future project in the house.

From the initial meeting and estimate through the completed project, James was always prompt and professional, James and his crew did a fabulous job working in a small space and the end result is fabulous. He was totally accurate in his estimate for the date of completion. We are looking forward to working with him again on our next home improvement project.

Jim did a great job on our basement! He worked with us to help design what we wanted and provided a few ideas that enhanced the room. He was fairly priced and did not go a cent above his estimate. Once he started the project, he was there almost every day (including weekends) working on it or supervising it himself. I could always contact him if I wanted to discuss some aspect of the project and he was very patient with us and gave us options regaring different aspects of the room. He tried to keep our home as neat as possible and cleaned up after the day was complete. Additionally, when I wanted something touched up or done slightly differently, he did so without any problem. I highly recommend him as a trustworthy contactor that does excellent work!

Excellent. Jim worked with a partner who was more expert in painting, drywall and mud work (named Marty Ruttkey). They completed this major bathroom renovation in only three weeks. Would have been shorter if not for delays by electrician (not their fault). They were very fast in getting the job done, but not at the cost of quality. They paid good attention to detail and did high-quality work. They were extremely cost-effective and I would highly recommend to anyone.
