Jamie stuck to his original estimate and provided detailed bills for insurance purposes. He also was happy to speak to our insurance adjustor in order to explain and justify --to the adjustor's satisfaction--the need for all the work he had done. This was a big factor in our getting reimbursed for most of our expenses.
Many of my neighbors also rely on Jamie for kitchen and bath remodeling as well as regular plumbing work. He always gets rave reviews.
He and his team combine the craft and technical expertise of a master plumber with the aesthetic eye and attention to detail of an artisan. Due to the required demolition and jack-hammering, there was substantial dust and debris. Every day, the crew endeavored to minimize the disruption, to contain the dust and debris, and to clean-up as much as possible at the end of each day. James also worked with us to select new fixtures and tiles, made technical recommendations as the work progressed, and pointed us to an excellent local tile company. During the course of the work, James discovered another example, in addition to the toilet flange, where the original plumbing was at or near the point of failure. We were able to incorporate this remedial work into our contract, thus preventing the need for future excavation.
Our experience with our new PRV illustrates James' commitment to customer satisfaction. When he first installed it, the new PRV made an irritating noise when water was turned off or on. James doggedly pursued the cause of this noise, spoke directly with the manufacturer, and ultimately completely disassembled and reinstalled the unit. It now works perfectly. We should also mention that James identified and corrected inferior cement repair work done by a previous plumbing contractor.
We are delighted with our new baths and now consider James to be our plumber of first resort for large or small plumbing jobs, or bathroom renovations.
Helped us think about the best way to lay out the basement bathroom (not much choice upstairs) and recommended suppliers with which we were very happy (but was okay if we wanted to go with Home Depot for some items).
Cleaned up every day and was conscientious about health concerns (asthma) with the dust.
Very nice and soft-spoken and not at all intimidating or pressuring. Really wants to leave most decisions up to you but will offer advice if asked.
We're very happy.
