I recently bought an 80 year old home in DC that had carpet on the main level and hardwood in the bedrooms. The hardwood appeared to be in decent condition, but wasn't in tip top. I received multiple estimates. All three were in the same ballpark, but I had a good feeling about Wilfredo, the sales guy. He was knowledgeable and punctual, both excellent traits. Him and his team were able to begin work within a few days. After day one, I was asked to come take a look at the condition of the floor after the initial sanding. I arrived earlier than Wilfredo and met his team. They showed me deep scratches that could not be sanded out and were going over options with me, repair, new floors, etc. When Wilfredo showed, he took stock and noted that while the floors were old, they weren't in bad shape. He took a different, smaller sander and went to work on some of the scratches which made a huge difference. He instructed his team to take their time. After the first coat, I returned to the house and saw the progress made. It was ok, some scratches were still present in the dining room, but the living room appeared in decent shape. I wasn't wowed by any means, but considering the age of the house, I assumed that that was the best it would be. Well after returning on completion of the job, and after the second or third coat, I was pretty floored (pun intended). They sparkled. I now really worried about scratching them up and ruining their excellent work. The team really did a good job bringing the floors back to life. They also did a great job on thoroughly cleaning up after themselves. I would highly recommend them.
