I've been working with Harry for nearly ten years. He is absolutely the best. A real master craftsman. For example,I recently called him about a furnace leak. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained it to me (hoses with holes in them). He also showed me a circuit board that was water damaged and had rust in it. A replacement part would have cost over $300, but Harry was able to clean off the rust, dry it off with a hair dryer and put it back. The man is fair and honest, reliable and a true professional.

I've had an installation and other service , now and then, since 1999 and Harry's always done excellent work. I'm completely satisfied with his efficiency. He only sells you what you need, not like other "highly rated" companies that want to push certain name brands at higher cost.

My gas furnace boiler with room radiator heaters was not getting heat to the 3rd floor. I called Harry, and because it was cold and winter, his response was to make his call a priority. Within a day he was able to come out, and diagnose the problem as the need for a new pressure tank. Luckily, he had a furnace just like mine, so, though the parts are not easy to come by, he was able to locate a new pressure tank. Within two days of the order, the tank arrived and Harry with it to install. Though the furnace room is very tight and it was very difficult to get at the old pressure tank and install the new one, Harry was able to do it without draining the whole system, which was a huge plus, and spoke to his experience, and willingness to keep the expense reasonable.
The repair worked very well for the first two years, but the last two years the system has not been bringing heat to all of the radiators on the 3rd floor. Since the amount of heat in the house is adequate, I have not had Harry return to check out the system to see whether we might restore full function.

We were having trouble with getting heat to our third floor radiators. He came out the very next morning, was actually an hour early (called first to tell us), saw exactly the problem, fixed it immediately and is coming back next week to do more significant repairs. I was ready to replace my boiler and he told me it's unnecessary...the issues are with my pressure regulator and thermostat. Plus, he was so pleasant and funny! I will never use anyone else for my HVAC issues!

They had to troubleshoot the problem and didn't come in and say that I blanketedly needed X, Y and Z. They really tried to pinpoint the problem. It took several visits but they got to the root of the problem. I trust them. I've had other companies come out on this same furnace and they have said right away that I needed a new furnace. They are honest and reasonable. It is a father-son team and not a big corporation, which I like.

I called Harry the week after Christmas, and he came out right away. He found the problem to be a clogged intake valve, ordered the part which is hard to find, but he had seen it in a catalogue, got the part the day he said he would, and installed it, restoring the heating system to fully functioning. Harry's rates are reasonable, and he has a good work ethic, always going first to the homes without heat, before going to homes with partial heat.

After unpleasant experiences with several heating/ac companies, I found Harry Varvounis. He has been servicing our home for several years now. He is responsive, professional and quite reasonable in his pricing. He takes pride in his work and is a very pleasant person to deal with.

Harry was very good and came out fairly quick. He was very responsive to my needs. His prices seemed pretty reasonable to me. I have no complaints really. He did good work and I was very pleased by the quality.

I returned from a two week trip in late January to find freezing temperatures and the gas furnace not operating. After following instructions on the furnace to relight the pilot -- electronic ignition -- furnace remained inoperable. I could hear the motor for the fan, the gas being released, but not igniting. I had HVHAC (the company) check out the systems when I bought the house, and went back to them; luckily, they sent someone same morning. My house is about 100 years old, and has suffered some b****** renovation work. The installation of the heating and hot water systems could have been significantly better thought out. Anyway, HVHAC was still able to diagnose the problem and replace the needed part -- the hot surface ignitor. I did check online (http://homerepair.about.com/od/heatingcoolingrepair/ss/furn_electr_ign.htm) and have to question HVHAC's quote on the HSI part (originally quoted as $100) which was cited in the article as $50; maybe there is some margin, possibly specialization? And labor was approximately $150/hour. Frankly, I'm glad to have heat, that HVHAC could come so quickly, but slightly miffed about prices, but I always am.
