"Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your installation. Our project manager was in communication with you on a consistent basis and followed up with you at the end of installation to find out if you were satisfied. At those times you did not once communicate any concerns to us regarding dents in the floors or gaps. We would have been happy to come back to address these issues if they had been brought to our attention. As you are aware, we did go the extra mile to assist you. First, we matched a competitor’s price, so we worked with you on pricing. Then, you wanted to know the best flooring to install in your home based on the resale property values in your area. At that time, we were happy to put you in touch with a realtor who was able to assist you in making that flooring decision based on the resale value of properties around you. We truly believe we went above and beyond to assist you with your needs. We are sorry that you did not feel the same way. If you have any other concerns, we are always here to help at 301-490-0994."
"Thank you for your review. First, we have over 35 years of flooring experience. Five people who are involved in your project , including the vendor who sold us the product, will truthfully tell a different view from yours. It is unfortunate that you have never allowed us to come back to review the job with you since installation. When you called us you expressed you had family moving in with you on a Saturday and you needed a new floor installed immediately. We saw you on a Wednesday, you picked out a style/color based on a sample we showed you, you signed a contract with us stating payment terms are due upon completion, and we installed Thursday - 24 hours. We went to charge your card on Friday. You called us Friday to say you did not like the color as if you had buyer's remorse. We did not charge your card for payment. We offered to come back out to review the installation with you. You stated you were going on vacation the next day and would schedule a time when you returned. At that time you did not say anything about moisture or any of your other concerns in your review. Weeks go by. We do not hear from you. Our salesman called 2x to set up a time to review your floor. He did not hear back from you. Once we sent a past due payment invoice you became offended. We gave you the manufacturer information as requested. Again, we offered to come look at the floor with you. You refused to allow us to. The manufacturer rep said you never called. We asked our manufacturer rep to reach out to you to discuss your concerns. He said you were rude to him and would not allow him to speak. The product we installed in your home is a popular product in the metro area and we have had no complaints. Again, our owner offered to come out to review the floors even as of this past Tuesday. You still say no. You have threatened in email to write negative reviews of our business online everywhere. Why? You have not paid the invoice. Now at 2 months, we have handed everything over to our attorney."
They did a great job.
When we spoke to Steve about it, he didn't volunteer to come and look at the work performed but rather had his assistant send us an updated invoice with an additional $2,000 charge. Steve didn't come and look at the floor, didn't apologize for the floor, didn't say that the installers should have called him with this issue. Steve just said that now the floors would need to be sanded and passed the entire cost to us. We had discussed with Steve before the project began as to whether sanding the floors would be necessary and he came out to the house - with the installers who appeared to have the expertise - to make this particular determination and said that the floors would not need to be sanded. A new invoice was sent immediately. Just an invoice. It's only when we expressed our disapproval that Steve offered the minor gesture of picking up the cost of a box or two of wood installed. We have doubts that four boxes of wood were even used as he suggested.
We were moving and had left the area but we came back to take a look at the sanding and finishing job, and we were disappointed again. The subcontractors Steve hired, sanded down the floors and exposed the considerable gaps between the new boards they installed. We are not sure if this was a measurement or installation issue, but it looked awful. Again, this was not brought to our attention. When we called to speak to Steve about it, he said he would have someone come back to install some wood putty. Putting aside any concern about the number of gaps evident after a professional installation, we were disappointed that this was not brought to our attention and taken care of. We moved across the country and have not come back another time to see how well, or how poorly, this work was done. We are not hopeful.
To make matters worse, one day after the work was supposedly complete - we never got to see the final job - Steve called us to ask for payment and then immediately followed up with an email indicating that we hadn't paid the remaining balance owed. However, we called to make payment that same day and no one was in the office. As it is detailed above, we communicated with hime throughout the process but we also emailed him at the end expressing our disappointment. He responded by email saying and quot;sometimes a person needs to hear this.and quot; There was no offer for a reduction in the fee or any efforts to make it right. We paid Steve in full but please don't use his service. We completed a $65,000 kitchen remodel and used wonderful contractors - he was the lone exception.
