Originally my father had hired Melvin to Mow, Trim & Blow his lawn in 2010. They came every week whether the grass needed mowing or not. So in the hot summer when the grass was brown and crispy, the lawn was mowed and in October when the grass was no longer growing, they mowed as well. When my father became ill and had to pass this household task onto me, he insisted we continue with this same company, so I did. Apparently Melvin wasn't happy with this arrangement as when I'd ask them to do an area that was missed, they refused saying that they could only speak with my father about it. When my father called to verify that I indeed was now in charge of this task, the company supposedly made a note. Though whenever I needed something addressed, the same issue kept on coming up. So Melvin had a problem dealing with me yet not him. This continued to be a problem throughout the business relationship. They would charge for every single week whether they mowed or not. I didn't feel we should have to pay for work that wasn't performed. Nonetheless, when we received the bill @ the end of the month, indeed we were continually charged. So I only paid for those days the lawn was actually mowed and I had to keep track or we would end up paying for work undone. For the last 2 seasons we put up with this company they charged for a month of mowings that had not occurred. The first of these, they charged for a month earlier than they began and the second, they charged for November long after they had stopped. In July 2013 a tree fell on the property and we had to have Miss Utility mark the property to have some work done, I asked that the mowing be temporarily halted until that work was completed. 2 weeks later we were able to resume, they refused to continue. So they stopped mid-season and never returned, yet @ the end of October when we received a final bill, yep, we were charged for the 3 1/2 months they hadn't mowed and refused to come. One year I got a quote for tree trimming and even though Melvin assured me he knew all about tree work, it was clear he was no Arborist as he didn't understand anything about the trees or their root systems and just wanted the work. So glad I went with another company. The only thing I liked about this company was the fall-clean up. That was amazing. 5 workers showed up with various blowers and collected the entire lawn full of leaves in only 20 minutes. They blew it to the front curb and sucked it up into a truck. So for fall-clean up they were fantastic too bad the rest of the season was such a hassle.
