I had tried several of the vets in the Silver Spring area before I moved to the Four Corners area almost a year ago. They ended up being the clinic that both my husband and I found most trustworthy.
The things that stood out about Four Corners AH:
- Dr. Bowersett goes out of his way to consider your pet's history and carefully make all decisions considering any issues your pet has. Dr. B initially chose to skip an xray for us when examining our dog's bad hip because our dog has seizures.
- At the same time he doesn't overmedicate, advising us not to put him on seizure medications because the incident have not been severe or worse. Meds do have side effects and health impacts.
- Dr. B really excels when it comes to doing a thorough physical examination. Our dog has a bad hip that we had been concerned with. Dr. B was the only vet who noticed his leg was atrophied and was able to tell from a manual exam that it was not an ACL tear or the leg itself but the hip. All the other vets we took him to either didn't check thoroughly or was unable
to determine much - they just told us to xray him.
- The assistants are always there to completely handle, calm and make things comfortable for your pet. This is important because it frees up your attention to listen to the doctor. At another nearby Silver Spring vet, I've had to lift my 50 pound dog from ground level to an exam table - not nice on my back!
- Their desk staff are always super nice when you call or come in, and they have no problem helping you find the best place to get your animal treated. I've had other clinics get grumpy on my current vet because they realized I had been somewhere
else. At Four Corners Animal Hospital, they have no issues referring you to another place if they don't have a special vaccine you need - in fact, they will call around and find a place for you.
They are a small clinic, but Dr. B is attentive and thorough, the prices are very affordable and the staff has always been friendly.

I went to 4 Corners Animal Hospital seeking a second opinion. My 4 1/2 year old Golden Retriever was having leg pain, and my previous vet thought it was probably hip arthritis. She did do an xray, but it was blurry and inconclusive. I wasn't happy with the diagnosis so I sought out another vet. 4 Corners Hospital was wonderful! I saw Dr. Kimberly and she thoroughly evaluated my dog, and was more concerned that it might be ligament damage in her knee. I took her for xrays, and the hips were totally fine, but the knee is the problem. Next step, surgery. But I was very impressed with the level of service and compassion at this hospital. I plan on switching vets....

I've been going to Four Corners since 2006. Dr. B has seen many of my cats and taken great care of them. As a confirmed and quot;Crazy Cat Ladyand quot; he has also taken good care of the strays I've taken in. He will not sugar coat if there is a serious health issue that is found and I appreciate that. He also does not push to keep an animal alive no matter the cost (to me or the animal), yet he will always give me all the options available. I GREATLY appreciate that as I've had issues with other larger clinics or vet hospitals that push every test and treatment available. I feel part of the Four Corners family.
The only reason I gave them a B in punctuality is that they are good enough to taken in emergencies. When that happens, obviously, those that have appointments do have to wait a bit. I've had to call them on a number of occasions for emergencies and they've always found a way to squeeze me in.

We just recently lost a dog this Summer; we had a mighty Spartacus. He was quite a dog. We've had two dogs. One of them went 17 years which is about part of our family. Spartacus though had some problems. He passed away when he was 12. Four Corners Animal Hospital is the veterinary center near us, and they are very good. We have been going to them for years and we will probably continue to go to them as we will be taking two puppies probably by the end of April or early May. The doctor's name is Dr. Bowersett. My dog was like the star down there. They really liked him every time he came by. They were very friendly and personable. If we had to go anywhere, sometimes the assistant Kathy Diamond would take him in and watch him on the weekends. It was really great. Usually they don't take boarding, but they did it for us. When he was fine we took him for boarding, but when he was ill she took him in and watched him.

Generally ok but did not feel the vets communicated well and listened to my concerns. Also, they made my dog very nervous (more than other vets). Great vet techs and assistants.

I would highly recommend Four Corners Animal Hospital. You can tell that they love and care for the animals and it's not just a job to them. They are very responsive to any concerns or questions that we have. They are great.
