This is the best roofing company in the DC area. The previous owner did not maintain their slate roof for many years and it was in bad shape (leaks everywhere, hundreds of missing/ broken slate, etc..). Other roofers wanted to remove the entire roof and replace it with a new asphalt roof. But not Fletcher Roofing - Matt (the owner) is extremely knowledgable, patient, and I truly believe had our best interest at heart. His crew repaired the roof, replaced hundreds of slate tiles, re-did copper flashing, and re-cemented the ridges. It's BEAUTIFUL and it was done right. Sure, you have to pay more for a job done correctly, but it was so worth it and actually was very competitive with other companies that were less experienced and knowledgeable. The crew was here for 2 weeks and they worked really hard, they were professional, and I actually liked having them around (that says a lot because roof work is loud). I'm going to recommend this company to all of my friends and family.

Jimmy gave me a very fair price on viewing the results of a tree fall which raked the edge of my house and peeled the gutter and downspout. There was a small amount of siding damage, but Jimmy informed me he doesn't do siding. I hadn't even noticed the siding damage until he pointed it out. Jimmy came when he said he would and worked for several hours, doing a beautiful job on all facets. I offered to pay him when he was done but he said he'd send me a bill, which he did for the agreed estimated price. I'll definitely use him again.

Fletcher Roofing did an excellent job.  They were careful not to dislodge other slate tiles as they replaced tiles that had fallen off during the course of bygone years.  I was very pleased with the job they did.  They worked on my slate roof in 2006 and then again in 2014.

I cannot say enough good things about Fletcher Roofing. I had a number of people come and give us an estimate on the repairing of the slate roof on our 1938 Silver Spring home. Some companies wanted to replace the entire roof for as much as $15,000, despite the fact that the roof was in relatively good repair. Indeed, it was only missing  several slates, which were either broken or cracked.  Fletcher Roofing replaced all those slates in one day, without any fuss.  When the worker was done, there was absolutely no debris.  A snow guard had fallen, which we only discovered subsequently.  It clearly fell during the extreme winter.  I called Fletcher and Jimmy came and re-inserted it, at no additional cost, but simply as a courtesy.  I was pleased enough with their work to ask them to tighten up and replace some guttering and down spouts.  This, too, was done in the most professional manner and at a very reasonable price.  I would recommend this company for your Page of Honor.

Fletcher Roofing is the only company that we would have work on our 72 year old slate roof. They are always on time and do everything by the book, which is important with slate. Jerry has a lot of experience working with slate, and explains the work he his going to perform.

Mr. Fletcher submitted the proposal and completed the work himself. Everything was completed as promised and thus far we have had no problems with our new clear skylights. His price was significantly better than a second bid that we obtained, and he was able to complete the work sooner. He was courteous and professional in all of our business dealings and we'd definitely recommend him to others.

They provided us with two estimates after a leaky roof, one was substantially cheaper than the other but more of a temporary fix.   We appreciated the choice, and chose the least expensive one to stay within our budget.   They have always provided us with excellent service, our slate roof is 60 years old and needs pretty constant repairs. 

It went well.  I have used Fletcher's for our regular roof maintenance since we bought our house 7 years ago.  Not every roofer knows how to care well for slate. They do.
The person who does the estimate, also does the work.  He is serious and professional.  Not a gabby guy, but he knows what he's doing and he does a very good job.  The first time they did work for us that was over and above general maintenance was after the big snow/ice storm in 2009.  We had ice dams and serious damage to our porch roof.  They pulled slates, repaired the underlay and then replaced slated where necessary.  After the work they advised us to wait until another rain to make sure the repair covered everything.Sure enough, the next rain we had one spot where we were still getting a bit of water.  They came back immediately and pulled another area of slate, no questions asked, no additional charges.  Very professional.
The other point I'd make about Fletcher's is that they give a very fair estimate.  I know slate is expensive to maintain, but they do not do more than is necessary.  The other estimate I got for the most recent job was over $3000!  Fletcher's estimate was $820 and I paid $820 and they did half the work the other guy had proposed.  We've had no problems since, so I have to assume that the other work was not necessary.

It went really well. They were prompt, they did exactly what they were charged, they came on time and they gave us clear advice.

It worked out fine.  The person that came to do the estimate actually did the work. He was very knowledgable and he did actually work.  He isn't just a salesman tying to push extra services on you.  His focus is actually working instead of sales.  I have had no problems since he fixed the issues.

Very well-they were punctual, made honest recommendations, provided a reasonable cost and arrived and completed the work on time.  I compared them to one other roofer and awarded them the work.

It went very well, from bid to completed work.
