I paid him $5000 up front as a down payment. The contract stated that the job was supposed to be completed in 90 days. He did a small part of the demolition within the first 4 days, but he did not remove any of the construction debris. He was good at returning calls and making promises, but he would not follow up with completing any of the work. He led me on for many months, but still had not come back to do more work. Finally, after I had waited for a year, he told me that I would have to pay him more money or he wasn't going to do any more work. I wasn't going to give him another dime until he completed the portion of the work he was supposed to do with the $5000 I had given him. I had also sent him a letter to let him know that I was displeased that he had not followed through with his part of the contract, which he didn't like. It was a really bad experience, he was very unprofessional, did not follow through, and did not clean up. I would never use him again.
