I purchased my home in August of 2023. I have not had a single problem since. I came back to review because a friend asked me who me inspector was and I enthusiastically recommend Tony but my friend pushed back he had an almost non-existent online profile. I recognized this was in part the fault of people like me who had GREAT experiences with Tony but never come online to share those experiences. I closed on a beautiful dream home and Tony was able to make it out Next day while my closing was experience pressure on deadlines from all sides. Tony inspected my house next day. Took his time and walked me through his whole process on all 2800 sqft. Then got me the report back in 36 hours! Tony felt like having an uncle walk me through my 1st home buying experience! Thankful for him and his stand up professionalism. 9 months into my new home and NO Surprises. He even told me what Preventative measures to take on my AC & HVAC units 5 star experience

I hired Tony Cyrus, of BB&C ASSOCIATES, INC., to perform a post-remediation mold test and I was unhappy with the services and report provided. Mr. Cyrus did an air test where he took an air sample in the remediated area. When I received the lab results back with just numbers, and no sort of legend to tell me what the numbers meant or further analysis, it raised a red flag. When I asked Mr. Cyrus what the results meant he said if the sp/m3 for each mold type was below 10,000 the mold levels were acceptable. But the EPA hasn't set any acceptable threshold level for mold so I'm not sure where he got the 10,000 sp/m3 threshold from. When I asked him for written documentation from an authoritative body, like the Indoor Air Quality Association, to backup the 10,000 sp/m3 threshold and other analysis he gave me he sent over a word document with basically everything he had said verbally. This word document wasn’t on official letterhead, didn’t have an official logo, nor was it printed from an authoritative body’s website so I have no proof he didn’t type those numbers up himself. I also called the lab where he sent the samples to ask for more guidance on interpreting the results and they said typically you're supposed to take a sample of the remediated area and an outdoor air sample to use as a control sample to compare the indoor mold levels to since there's no EPA set acceptable mold threshold. Mr. Cyrus didn’t take an outdoor sample, only a sample of the remediated area, so there was no basis to compare the indoor air sample to. Mr. Cyrus says he has over 20 years of experience as an inspector but the field is evolving, especially the mold field as they’re learning more and more, so while he might have a lot of experience, I’m not sure if he’s keeping up with the latest best practices for mold inspections. I take responsibility for not doing my due diligence upfront to ask what his post-remediation mold test entailed and to make sure he had accreditation from an indoor air quality association. His website says he’s certified with the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOME INSPECTORS (ASHI) & NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED HOME INSPECTORS (NACHI) but those are general home inspectors, not mold specialist. Just want to make others aware of my experience so they make sure to ask more questions upfront to make sure they’re satisfied with his experience and services before hiring him.
