Their work was excellent. They were punctual, courteous, efficient and professional. They explained in detail what work had to be done and why. Before working on the big tree, they saved azaleas under the tree by moving them. In addition to all the pruning, they cut off all the vines that were crawling up the trees. Their clean up was excellent as well. I highly recommend this company.

We've had Geoff do work for us multiple times and he and his crew always do excellent work. His prices are very reasonable and he does an incredible job at thinning the trees while maintaining a pleasing shape. He just finished another job for us including pruning of multiple trees and the removal of another and I am a happy customer yet again.

Geoff called the night before to let us know what time to expect him and his team. They showed up right on time with all their equipment and had both jobs done in a very short time. All trimmed branches and debris were cleaned up and carried away. It was a pleasure to work with them.

jOwner came out and gave estimate.  My choice came down to his company and one other.  Called to schedule second meeting as I had several questions.  Owner very punctual.  Offered very competitive price in return for next day performance of the job.  They did what they were supposed to do and cleaned up nicely.

They trimmed our trees and gave us a good price. The owner was very courteous and easy going. We are very satisfied and would call them again.

The price was the best of all the quotes received for this large job.  The team was efficient and professional.  They did everything they said they would.  They removed all of the debris from the trees and even made a pile of useable wood for our fireplace.  We would use them again.

We received several estimates for this job. Artistic was the lowest bid. The owner Jeff was eager to do the job as soon as possible and efficiently completed the job in one day (other service providers said it would take two days). One large branch of the tree suspended over our roof, and I haven't identified any damage to the roof or gutters of the house. Also, because the wood and brush needed to be taken out of the back yard by wheelbarrow via a brick path, I was concerned about damage to our other landscaping and walkways, but the crew cleared the debris from the back with minimal damage to existing landscaping. The back yard was left with a lot of sawdust and some debris; enough such that I'll have to rake and shovel into bags. Moreover, a neighbor's tree was slightly damaged by one of the trucks. All and all I feel Jeff and his team did a good job. After the job, I felt Jeff was rather defensive when I tried to debrief by phone. Nevertheless, I would consider Artistic for future jobs.

Owner, Jeff, is very difficult to work with. Quality of job was satisfactory with good prices but would not recommend this company due to the owner.

I've used them for over 30 years for various pruning and tree removals at very reasonable prices. We have yet to experience any difficulties with them, and given three decades of their professionalism and craftsmanship, I'm confident we never will.

We had a huge old oak tree in our backyard about 10 feet from the house that was beginning to die.  I contacted three tree services including Artistic Tree experts.  Two of the services said they would have to use a crane to move the tree parts over the top of the house (from the backyard to the front yard).  I was surprised and initially skeptical when Jeff said he could do it without a crane.  Sure enough, he and his crew did exactly what he said they could do and did an outstanding job.  Jeff is very personable and knowledgeable. He explained everything they would be doing.  They cleaned up everything and hauled it all away.  I was extremely happy and impressed with the work they did.

Excellent service--second time using

It went very well.  I have used Artistic Tree service in the past and highly recommend them.  In late June 2012 a severe storm blew down one large poplar tree and severely damaged another.   I called Jeff the owner and he responded within hours.   He scheduled and carried out the work on the severely damaged tree a day later.   I then asked for estimates on cutting down two other large trees and trimming two others.  Based on other estimates and previous experience, I felt the estimates were fair.  Jeff's crew cut some of the large branches for firewood, chipped useless branches, and hauled away the main trunks of the trees.   Jeff has the right equipment, which makes their service safer and faster..  Many tree service companies do not have the heavy equipment Artistic Tree does.  Jeff also does not damage good  trees when trimming them by using in appropriate tree climbing spikes.  I also like is friendly, helpful crew.

I received three estimates for the work and Jeff Favali and another company provided exactly the same price. Jeff was slow to call back after my initial call, but I was in no hurry so that did not matter to me. He came by and walked the the job with my wife. I didn't hear back from him and when I called to follow up he said he would like to meet with me to go over the project and he would give me a price right then. I met with him on Saturday and he gave me a very good price, described how he would do the work and when he could do it. I felt like he was knowledgeable and eager for the business. We set up the service day for the following Saturday at 8:30.
That Saturday was the weekend before Hurricane Sandy was suppose to hit us on Monday, so clearly everyone who needed tree work was calling. Jeff didn't show up at 8:00 and didn't call. I called him at about 9:00 and he said that he was trying to squeeze in some work for customers before the storm and he was running a few hours late. Completely understandable given media coverage of the storm, but it would have been nice of him to call. He showed up around 10 with a big crew and was very friendly and got right to work. He scaled a tree and took down some large broken branches quickly and professionally. He clearly know what he was doing and did it fast. His crew cleared the branches and took them to his chipper for fast disposal. All was going very well. He had forgotten that I asked for a medium size tree to be cut down as part of the original bid and so he stopped some other minor work he was doing and put the crew on that task. He was in a hurry and they brought the tree down with no rope to guide the fall, just his judgement on how to cut the trunk. His judgement was correct, but if he had been wrong the tree would have hit my house or deck and caused damage. As it was there was no damage, but is was scary close! I saw at that time he was moving too fast. The last task was bring down a few hanging broken branches in a tall maple in our front yard and I went inside the house while he did this. We heard some loud sounds of wood falling and were a bit alarmed - but again, when I went out the work was done, everything seems fine and his crew quickly cleaned up everything. I paid Jeff and off he went, trying to get to as many of his clients as he could prior to the storm.
I left the house right then to do some chores and got a call from my wife on her cell phone a few minutes later that our phone lines, TV and internet service was out. The Verizon Fios line for our service runs right through the maple tree where he had been working. All of our services were working just prior to his arrival and they were all off right when he left. I asked her to call Jeff right away and she did. He was not far away and turned around to check out the problem. I was away when he did this. He came, looked up at the line, which was still intact and said that it was nothing he had done and it was just a coincidence that our service was gone. My wife challenged him on this and he raised his voice at her and was too aggressive and unprofessional in his response. Clearly he want no part in being responsible for the damage and wanted to get back on the road. There were many other ways he could have handled the situation that would have been more professional, but getting loud and aggressive towards my wife was the way he chose. This is, by far, the main reason for my negative review. I arrived just as he was about to drive away and he was curt and dismissive about how this had nothing to do with his work. Since I knew there was nothing that he could do to fix it, I let him go on, but I absolutely knew that it was the high branches he was cutting in the maple that fell onto the Verizon wire and busted the fiber line inside the cable. He was just moving too fast and was not being cautious. Jeff does know how to do tree work, but given this situation, I felt he was unprofessional and his actions towards my wife were not acceptable at all.

I almost hate to discuss the quality and care of this company at the risk of making Jeff and his crew busier then they are now in fear that they could be too busy if I ever needed them again.

I had six different estimates given to me for tree work. Jeff was more knowledgeable about the trees - their relative state of health and the best way to proceed than anyone else who came to speak to me. He spoke of a problem with the maple tree that I wasn't sure existed and no one else mentioned or noticed. I couldn't see it - but sure enough once the tree was cut inside the trunck I could see the disease. His personality is such that he has a clear love for trees.

I was very lucky and happened to catch Jeff with an open spot the very next morning after I received my estimate. As promised he showed up a few minutes before 8 AM with his entire crew. I was amazed at how quickly, effectively and efficiently he and his crew brought down the maple tree. Within 40 minutes the vast majority of the tree was down. Within 3 hours all of the work was completed and the yard was cleaned up to a condition that was better than when they started.

They did everything that was promised and more, at about 20% less overall then other estimates I received. I won't use anyone else but Artistic in the future.

They arrived on time, cleaned up all debris. Also nice since they try to find the wood to be used, not just to the dump. (Firewood, 2x4's, and mulch to a local landscaper) I totally recommend them -- and their costs are very reasonable

This was a superb experience. Jeff clearly knew all about trees, and they were efficient, courteous, and I thought very well priced for the work they did. We will be using them again this spring to cut another tree down. I wish they were landscapers, too!

They responded quickly with a free estimate, which was the best one, and performed the work as promised. Although there was a delay due to rain, they kept me informed about timing. Very professional. Great price. Would definitely use again.
