Excellent job! I have a small and very old commercial rental building near Dupont Circle that had the old window AC units. When I looked around for someone to install 2 heat pumps, Ed was one of the bidders. By far he demonstrated that he really knew what he was talking about and that he could handle the difficult case of an old building and little space for the units.... not to mention parking for his workers. He did a lot of creative thinking and came up with a great solution for us. His prices were good compared the the other bids and he did an meticulous job. Today he went to another property to restore heat and am so thankful that someone would come out on New Years Day and not charge us and arm and a leg. Highly, highly recommend!

Called company late afternoon and spoke with owner and explained we needed service as quickly as possible. Daughter just had wisdom teeth extracted and we really needed help. Kind owner arrived within an hour and repaired unit quickly and the service bill was very reasonable. Will definitely use this company again. Highly recommended.

AC went out on a Wednesday afternoon. I spoke with the owner directly and received a scheduling call at 9 am the next morning.
The AC was fixed by 11 am.

Airways was the vendor who installed the system in the first place about ten years ago. They have since been the ones to service it. about a year ago, the condenser in the attic leaked water onto the flooring, which went into the apartment below it and then to the one below that. The repairman came and said that the system drain line was clogged and proceeded to clean it. I learned later that just because the system drain line is clogged does not mean that the water will overflow the pan and into the dwelling. There are two safety switches built into the system which will (are supposed to) stop the system before there is an overflow. The switches that Airways installed did not work (Obviously! It leaked into the rooms below). The repairman said that the switch had been turned off and that he turned it back on. Six months later, we had the same problem: a massive leak into the room below the attic. The reason was the same, plugged line, but again, the switches should have prevented the overflow, but did not. When I got the bill, I told the owner that his people had been responsible for the two leaks because they did not fix the switches which were to prevent the overflow. He never responded. I found another service person (listed high in Angies List) and he came and fixed the switches: one was improperly connected, so it did not work. The other was the wrong kind. It was apparent that the two men from Airways did not know what they were doing and that there had been no oversight by the owner who should have known that the system is set up in such a way that regardless of reasons, there should never be any water overflowing the pan and into rooms below. I wrote a long letter to the owner, Ed Pennfield, and explained my reasons for desiring his insurance company to pay the bill to repair the ceilings, but never heard back from him in any way.

They cleaned the furnace and did a safety check on everything. They were instructional. I had to be on-site to let them in. They didn't just come in and slam things together, but they actually showed me what they were doing and told me how things should be set with the furnace. It made me feel like I was really getting good service.
They're responsive, very kind, and just very good people.

The owner of Airways Unlimited first gave me instructions over the telephone to test 4 or 5 obvious things (like turning switches on and off in the furnace room) which he thought might solve the problem. Everything seemed to work normally but the Heating Unit would not start and the house was getting very cold.
Apparently there had been a power surge early on the Sunday morning which automatically turned off a an electric switch behind a panel in the AC/Heating unit. The technician then discovered that batteries had been installed in the thermostat when the AC/Heating unit was installed about 8 years ago,. The batteries had been installed to ensure the thermostat continued to function in case of a power failure during the winter. The batteries made it appear that the AC/Heating unit was operating normally when in fact. the electricity supply had been shut off because of the power surge. Once the batteries were removed and the hidden switch was turned on the AC Heating Unit functioned normally.
Airways Unlimited have always provided good service in a timely manner, and we were impressed that they were able to provide a technician and good service on a Sunday morning.

I have been cancelled on 3 times now. They finally come out after 2 cancellations and the technician did a good job and I was satisfied with the service, however, he also took measurements for a basement HVAC finish estimate. No estimate was ever provided and the owner has cancelled on me twice to come by and reestimate and didn't return my last call for a reschedule. I will have to go elsewhere in the future now.

They were able to come out within 2 days of our call, which is nice because we couldn't use our A/C until it was repaired. The technician did a great job explaining the problem and how to fix it. He blew debris out of the pipe from both ends, making sure everything was clear and working properly before he left.

I didn't originally call them to do this service. I called because there was a system malfunction and they installed the unit 3 years ago and everything should have been under warranty. The dispatcher, however, told the service guy to perform the routine service check, which costs $70. He did it, and did a fine job (and fixed the original problem) but strictly speaking. It wasn't why I called. But I probably needed to have this done any way, and he did a good job and was very professional and courteous. I'm not going to shoot the quality of the company down for the dispatcher's mistake but with all services, make sure they understand why you're calling before they start doing stuff.

I called Airways Unlimited on a Saturday at 2:30. They responded immediately, called the technician, and by 5:30, it was fixed, which was a great relief as the temperature has plummeted. They were responsive, professional, and courteous.

THEY WERE QUICK TO RESPOND IN AN EMERGENCY. AFTER DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM AND DETERMINING THAT I NEEDED A NEW UNIT, THEY THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED MY CHOICES. I DID NOT FEEL PRESSURED TO PURCHASE A SPECIFIC PRODUCT, JUST WAS GIVEN THE INFORMATION AND ALLOWED TO MAKE A DECISION.
