The reviews here are all old. Take it from me…. Go with a different company!! Working with John turned out to be an absolute nightmare!!!! He was not flexible from the start with scheduling, a branch fell and damaged our 2-month old gutters, he sent a different company to fix without talking to me first insisting we would never use the warranty we had, he told me the branch fell because it was so old and my fault for not taking the tree down years ago, he lost his temper and was yelling at me, hung up on me twice, and this is just some of what happened. I absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone!! Ever!!

Ok- Tall Tree was late in arriving for the estimate. I am including that in the review so that you know it's an honest review. That said- John and his group are true professionals who understand trees, explain things well, and do great work at a great price. The post clean-up was spot on; I got home and saw nicely trimmed trees without any mess on the ground.

This is a top notch operation. We contacted them based on the many, many recommendations from neighbors on our community and these guys were responsive, professional, the most reasonably priced, and most importantly did great work leaving our home looking nicer than it did when they arrived.

They're very good. They come once a year at least, sometimes more often. They're fantastic, they're great people. The workers were absolutely nice to me, they couldn't be better. I just pay them whatever they want, it's okay with me. The quality is phenomenal, they're very, very, very good. They're very, very professional. The workers were very pleasant, they were very professional. They do great work, they do exactly what they say they're going to do and they do it in a very timely manner.

After requesting a handful of estimates from other providers in our area, Tall Tree Service by far came in the cheapest (aside from the various shady guys who constantly knocked on our door offering to cut down our tree). The cost broke down to $450 for cutting down and removing the tree, and $50 for grinding the stump. Other estimates we received ranged from $650-950 in total. While performing the actual service, the tree crew operated like a well-oiled machine. It was amazing to see the team at work!
My gripe with my experience however was with regard to scheduling and their responsiveness. The soonest I was able to schedule the removal was about two weeks out, and confirmed removal for Thurs, May 29th. That day turned out to be a wet one however, so I called to inquire about whether I should still anticipate them in the afternoon about 1pm as planned, or if we'd need to reschedule. I spoke with the owner and he said it all depended on how their morning work went and if the crew would be up to continuing on in the afternoon. About 12:45pm he called saying they'd need to reschedule because the crew was wet and didn't want to work anymore. The owner rescheduled me for Saturday, May 31st between 1-3pm. On Saturday (a beautiful day) we hung around at home waiting and waiting for them to arrive, but never came. By 2:45pm I hadn't heard from anyone, so I attempted contacting both the office phone number and foreman's cell phone numbers with no answer. By 3:30pm, I was still unable to reach anyone and received no contact from any member of their company until after 8am Monday morning, June 2nd. On Monday, at 8:05am I called their office number with no answer, but as I was leaving a message I received an incoming call from the owner. I expressed frustration that nobody showed up nor called on Saturday as scheduled, to which he responded that it was a busy day and the dump closed early so they were unable to unload wood from the earlier jobs and therefore couldn't come to our house as planned. After expressing that I didn't care the reason, simply that a call would have been appreciated, he said and quot;they're at your house now, do you want your tree cut down or not?and quot; I was home at the time of the call and relayed to him that there was no tree crew present at my house. He then backtracked to say and quot;well I have them on their way and they can be there within 15 minutes.and quot; When the crew arrived, I went out to greet the foreman, and he apologized for the scheduling issue, saying that he had just received my voice mail from Saturday and that there had been a scheduling mix-up. The foreman agreed to remove some old firewood we had moved to the curb to help make things right. All work performed was completed within 45 minutes (I suspect because they had a large crew with them, as the original estimate was 2-3 hours for completion).
All in all, I was very impressed with the work performed and the tree crew. I would use them again and would recommend them with the caveat that you may encounter some scheduling challenges.

I called for an estimate, and was able to schedule that pretty quickly. John arrived for the estimate on time, and spent some time walking around the property with my wife and I to look at what we wanted to do.
He gave us an estimate for the work before he left, which I felt was reasonable for what we were doing (it's hard to explain the size of the limbs we were having cut down, but they were both large, and required climbing in the tree to cut). One of the limbs we needed to trim was from a cherry tree, and per my request, they cut it into logs and left it stacked by our firepit.
I've used John and his team before, and i've always been happy with their work. Would highly recommend.

Best tree service in the area - bar none. Pleasant crew. Punctual. Lightning fast. Extremely focused on customer service and making customers happy. Will use again without question.
