Description of Work: For several years, I was a satisfied customer of Severna Flowers & Gifts’ shop in Arnold, Maryland, which was recently closed possibly as a harbinger of declining service. On September 1st 2011, I placed an order for flowers with a new staff person Jennifer. I stressed the necessity the accompanying card contain a specific message, which I e-mailed to Jennifer. Inexplicably, my message did not arrive as I intended, which if that was the sole mistake would be forgivable. However, the flowers I ordered were significantly below what I had come to expect from the now closed Arnold store. I ordered flowers for my girlfriend, who is an Emergency R.N. at a hospital, where flowers are delivered daily. My girlfriend as well as ER doctors and nurses told me the flowers were among the most mediocre they have ever seen. The least critical comment was “the flowers were well past their prime”. Astermaria were “old, brown and droopy”. Purple pom poms had fallen from the stem and arrived bent/broken. Blooms on the daisies which if not completely missing hung onto the arrangement by a thread. With the cost of flowers approaching the cost of a meal at a good restaurant and/or the cost of filling one’s gas tank, customers such as me deserve and should receive a better product than what was delivered. My girlfriend said she had to throw away most of the flowers the day after delivery. Contact with Severna Flowers & Gifts was minimally delayed due to an electrical outage in my area as a result of a hurricane. The store’s manager, Bill Dyott declined my request for a full refund
