Ron did a nice job once he got around to it, but he took weeks and weeks to get started. He did not come when he said he would and when he finally came, we were out of town. He called a few days later and said he would be back to complete the job, but as of a week later he hasn't come back.

"ONCE AGAIN, THIS SERVICE WAS PERFORMED ABOUT A MONTH AFTER AGREEMENT ON THE SERVICE. ALL HARDSCAPE WORK WAS UP-TO-DATE AT THIS TIME, AND I WAS CONDUCTING FALL MAINTENANCE. THIS JOB AND SOME OF THE FALL MAINTENANCE FELL BEHIND SCHEDULE DUE TO MY WIFE BEING BEDRIDDEN WITH A SIGNIFICANT ILLNESS AND RELATED INJURY, THUS REQUIRING MY CARE AND ASSISTANCE ON A REGULAR BASIS. I ALSO DEALT WITH MY OWN ILLNESSES DURING THIS TIME. I CONDUCTED THE INITIAL INSTALLATION OF THE FENCE ON 11-28 (AND MAINTENANCE SERVICE FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS) IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES WITH WIND CHILL CONDITIONS WHILE I HAD WALKING PNEUMONIA. I ENDED UP BEDRIDDEN MYSELF WITH A COMBINATION OF THE PNEUMONIA AND STREP THROAT, WHICH DID NOTHING TO HELP MY SERVICE SCHEDULE. COMPLETION OF THIS JOB REQUIRED PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURE OF SMALL PIECES FROM ALUMINUM STOCK TO PROPERLY SECURE SECTIONS OF THE FENCE. THIS SERVICE WAS COMPLETED ON 12-17. AS A SIDE NOTE, I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND MY APPRECIATION TO ALL OF MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE CUSTOMERS WHOSE SERVICE WAS ALSO DELAYED DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. YOUR PATIENCE, UNDERSTANDING, AND WILLINGNESS TO ALLOW ME TIME TO DEAL WITH CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND MY CONTROL AND TAKE CARE OF MY WIFE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED, AND WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN."

Ron came out and gave us an estimate. When we called and told him we would like him to do the job. It was a few months before we heard from him again. Once he and his men started it, they did a beautiful job, finished quickly, and cleaned up thoroughly.

DUE TO HEAVY DEMAND FOR HARDSCAPE SERVICES, NEARLY ALL HARDSCAPE SERVICES PERFORMED DURING THE SUMMER OF 2008 WERE PERFORMED A MONTH OR MORE AFTER CONTRACTED. I TRY TO KEEP CUSTOMERS ADVISED OF SCHEDULING AND WAITING PERIODS FOR SERVICE. SCHEDULED START DATES ARE OFTEN DELAYED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER INTRUDING ON THE SCHEDULE; THIS AFFECTS EACH SCHEDULED SERVICE BEYOND THAT POINT."

Got a reasonable bid and prompt agreement. Work was accomplished on time. Sent in final payment and then discovered that they covered over the big plate for water meter access. No return calls after leaving three messages, or visit to uncover. Ended up doing it myself. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Went from A to F.

"I RETURNED ONE TIME AND COULD NOT LOCATE THE WATER METER COVER. I SPOKE WITH THE MEMBER VIA PHONE AND ADVISED I WOULD RENT A METAL DETECTOR AND RETURN TO LOCATE IT. HE ADVISED THAT HE HAD ALREADY FIGURED OUT ITS LOCATION. COVERING THE WATER METER CAP WAS UNINTENTIONAL, AND I WOULD HAVE GLADLY PAID THE RENTAL TO LOCATE IT. I AM SORRY THAT THIS PROBLEM RUINED AN OTHERWISE SATISFACTORY OUTCOME FOR HIM."

Ron was great to work with! His team arrived on time, were very professional, and completed all the work in one day. I was preparing my house to go on the market, and wanted something that would catch prospective buyers' eyes without going overboard, and Ron knew exactly what I was looking for. My front yard is mostly shade, and so Ron put in an arrangement that was perfect - (small) evergreens, rhododendrons, azaleas, and shade-loving annuals. He arranged the other garden areas in my yard with similar results, and I've been getting compliments from neighbors ever since (along with requests for his contact info). We've been getting a lot more potential buyers walking through our house now, and I think that Ron's work had a lot to do with that. I definitely plan on using his services for our new house later this year.

I called Ron for a quote to backfill where I had a concrete patio removed, and he came out the next day. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. His team came out as soon as possible after the promised date, due to heavy rain, and installed the paver base. His team completed the backfill work after the ground had dried further, a few days later. The finished job was excellent! I would definitely use Vista again for other landscaping work.

Ron was recommended by Brian McCubbin at The Stone Store. Even though my job was not exactly landscaping, he was happy to accept the task. He came out on his own to check the stalls and determine how much stone dust was needed. For the installation, he and his team of 3 delivered and tamped the stone dust giving me a firm level surface for the mats. The job was completed in a timely and very professional manner and the entire team was a pleasure to deal with. The cost was also quite reasonable. When I do have a landscaping job, I will be sure to call Ron at Vista Lawn and Landscape.
