It was 2003, and I was headed to Iraq. They were recommended, and local, so I hired them. They gave me a good price, close to the bottom price, and agreed to what I wanted. I was gone while they built the garage. It was not quite where I wanted it to be, and not quite what I wanted, but when I got back in 2004 I thought it was ok. The fence was good, though they had detoured around a tree in the front and cut off my frontage by a couple of feet in favor of the neighbor. I wanted to upgrade my porch and my garage. I found, in 2019, that they'd never closed the permit on my garage or my fence! I cannot finish work on my garage because they did not close the permit! For 15 years! I called and complained, and they said the garage would be a problem, wut they'd fix the fence and work on the garage. NOTHING! Stay away!

Great service, professional installation and great final product. We put an initial deposit of 30% and two weeks later had final approval on fence. Tom set up the install and it proceeded very smoothly. High recommend!

I'm still not satisfied with what they did with the fence. I paid them all their money upfront. The fence was supposed to be a privacy fence where you can't see through it. Some of the slats weren't close together real tight. He came out three times to work on the repair stuff that I called him about. He was telling a lie. I told him that he was lying. They came out three days to work on the fence. He came out, one day by himself, and then the other two days, the Latino guys came out. The dogs are digging under it. I told him to backfill it, put something under the fence because I didn't want the big cats or dogs coming under the fence. You can see the fence is crooked. It's not a straight top fence. I know if I call him and tell him, he is going to swear to God that I'm not telling the truth. There was a root in my yard and I knew that they wouldn't be able to set the fence correctly. I asked him to cut the root. I tried to tell him ahead of time. I can't even get to my gate because they didn't have the sense enough to take the brick. It was a good price. They didn't do what I asked them to do. They didn't take a leveler to see if the fence was level. I wouldn't use him. That's for sure.

The estimate came in $400 less than the closest competitor. The price was so low I was worried the materials or labor might suffer for it. I was able to see their work just down the street from me and when I saw the fence they had recently installed I was confident they would do a good job.
The work was completed very quickly and without issue. The Fence looks great and is holding up nicely. If I need more fence work or a deck I will be sure to use them again.

Mr. Connick listened to what I wanted, measured the site and presented the options. Once the design was agreed upon he presented us with the cost. There was a week delay in getting started. This was clearly reasonable as some of the items he had to receive from out of state. I was called prior to the date and given the name of the crew chief. On the day of installation the crew arrived promptly and got started immediately. This work was completed the 2nd day as presented. I had requested a specific custom arrangement for the fencing door. He was able to accommodate my unique needs. I love my new fence and especially the customized door.

in addition to being the lowest of all estimates, I liked that they were a local company. A pleasure to deal with. Called when they said they would. Showed up on time. Hauled away old materials. Great overall experience working with them.

We researched several companies before landing with Patuxent Deck and Fence. Their pricing was right in there with every one else and it wound up being the lowest. Normally I am one that believes, and quot;you get what you pay forand quot;.
The crew showed up on time, fully prepared, and ready for work. With a high of 21 degrees I was concerned for their well being, yet all of them said they'd be ok. They started working and didn't stop until the job was done....except the one time I made them come in to get warm and drink some coffee.
What a rewarding experience. The whole team was nice and hard workers that know their business. Definitely would hire them again.

When I was shopping around for estimates, Patuxent Deck and Fence was the only company that would give me an upfront estimate in writing based on the specs I provided ...all this without requiring a site visit. I didn't want to have to deal with multiple vendors who would waste my time walking the perimeter of my property when all I really needed was a rough estimate based on the basic specifications I provided. I was also looking for a single vendor that I could hire for both projects -- the fence and the patio.
First I talked with our builder's preferred vendor, Mid-Atlantic Fence and Deck. Since they had built our townhouse fence, I thought they would be good for our single-family home's fence too. They provided a high estimate for the fence, and did not seem to want to negotiate even though we were doing two major projects. But before we could even get to the negotiations, they wouldn't even answer our basic questions about materials and timeframe to get both projects done. So we are left wondering... if this is how the company treats us before they have our money, how much worse will it get after they have our money! Then I turned to Ace Deck and Fence, and they were real cooperative when we had three projects-- walkway, fence and patio -- but we had to drop the walkway project....and they wouldn't revise their initial quote! We never heard back from them either... apparently businesses is so good they can afford to turn away customers! Anyways I'm not going to bother to give them a poor rating, but it is interesting to note to their lack of professionalism as compared to Patuxent Deck and Fence.
Anna from Patuxent Deck and Fence sent me an estimate via email a couple of days after I submitted their online form. I was impressed with their candid and straightforward approach. After this initial vetting, I asked Patuxent Deck and Fence to come to our property and do a proper site visit to see the terrain where the fence would be built, and to bounce ideas about the patio project. Tom, the owner, came out to chat with us. He did not try to pressure us to choose a particular paver or preferred vendor, and he didn't try to up-sell us into a cedar fence when pressure-treated pine would work just fine for our needs.
We told Tom that we needed the fence done immediately after we moved in, and that the fence was the priority project since we have dogs. The day after we moved in, Tom was here with his crew to get the job done. As a last minute add-on project, Tom even created a 16x8 box filled with mulch as a dog area. Tom didn't charge us extra for this added labor/materials. We paid the same price that he had given us in our contract.
Tom had estimated three days to get the fence done, weather permitting, and he delivered on it. Patuxent Deck and Fence got the job done...done right, done on time and done without cutting any corners on quality or workmanship. Both the fence and the patio look beautiful.
I can't believe that other vendors were charging me nearly double for the same work! So if you want a whole lotta fluff on fancy stationery and business cards, go with the other guys.... you will definitely pay more because you're probably financing the owner's next Mercedes! But if you want no nonsense, get-it-done professionals, go with Patuxent Deck and Fence.

They did excellent work at a great price. They were professional, gave input, and everything turned out well. Would defiantely use them again. The only negative is the owner was hard to get a hold off when we were first trying to set up the estimate, but once we got past that it went smoothly, and now we have a beautiful fence.

We called for an estimate and they said they could come out next day. Estimator was friendly and price was by far the cheapest. This is a small, locally owned business and they ONLY do decks and fences so I felt good about using this company for those reasons. Although we had the info, we were told what is usually required for HOA approval which was nice of the owner. We put in a deposit, but then waited over a month for HOA approval. Patuxent said if the HOA didn't go through they would refund the money, no problem. As soon as the approval came in the fence was put in within 2 days - could not believe how quickly they got it done scheduling and actual putting the fence together. I give them a B for quality only because there were pieces of wood splintering out that we had to pull off and fix as well as a random nail placed in the top center of one column sticking out about 3 inches. Finally, the middle of the fence bows out strangely, that may be from the settling/drying of the wood over the summer. I've never had a wood fence before and so I may not understand what to expect. We were told how long to wait before putting any sort of sealer on the fence and followed those instructions. Overall very pleased and would use again if I was in need of this type of service.

This company's quote was the lowest by about $1500 and time to completion was estimated to be 3 weeks. The chainlink part of the job was completed in a week and without problems. It took 5 more weeks for them to start the vinyl part (claiming material was not in and finally got other type of material) and the first crew screwed it up(worst job ever seen - their quote). Another crew was sent out the very same day to fix it and did a good job considering what they started with, but it took 2 more tries (and 2 more weeks) to finish it to my satisfaction. Company was very responsive to my concerns, but was not always quick to get back to me. Overall not a smooth ride, but price/performance ration still good.
