Company was recommended by my insurance company as a "preferred provider".  They responded fairly quickly to do inspection for estimate but things went downhill from there.  When the bid was finally done (and some $5000.00 more than original), I never heard from them.  I began calling and was finally told that I needed to send deposit of 1/3 of total.  I did so within 2 days but evertime I called, I was told that they hadn't received it yet.  This went on for over a month.  Every time I called I was told that to  let  them "look for it" and would call me back.  Needless to say, I never got a return phone call.  After a month had passed, I called the office and asked if there was a different payment method they could take, like a credit card over the phone, so that they had their deposit and could come and get my roof done.  After someone had to "check" on that request, I did get a call back from Amanda who took my credit card information and was to submit the deposit that way.  She called me back shortly and said that the bank declined the transaction because of daily limits on my Visa/debit card.  I told her that the daily limit was $10,000.00 so that a $4,000.00 transaction should have been no problem.  She then tells me that she submitted a charge for $12,000.00 which was the total cost of the job!  I became enraged at that point and told her that there was no way I was going to pay them the full amount upfront as I feared that I would NEVER get my roof done if they had full payment up front.  I told her to do ONLY the deposit amount and call me back with a confirmation number and immediately called my claims processor at my insurance company and told her exactly what kind of shenanigans I was dealing with using her "preferred provider".  Once she called them and had a conversation about the level of service I was receiving, I did get a call from the scheduling dept. for a date three weeks away for them to replace my roof.  When the day came, the crew did arrive early and began work.  I expected some noise, etc. because there was a full crew of men working on my roof.  What I did not expect was for them to be tossing full bundles of shingles from one end to the other and letting them crash so h****** my roof that pictures literally fell off my walls, my windows vibrated and I seriously thought they were going to break and items in my china cabinet fell over.  I thought perhaps, at first, what it was just them placing the shingles from the ground to the roof but it continued all day long.  When a crash send my great-grandmother glasses falling from their location in my china cabinet and breaking, it was the last straw.  I went outside and told the foreman that I wanted the throwing of bundles of shingles to stop immediately and that they could carry them to where they needed to be placed and set them down instead of throwing them.  He responded with a smart response and an attitude of how dare I complain.  I can honestly say that I was thrilled to see them finish my roof and leave my property.  Broken heirlooms aside,  I can say that this was one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with.  Their customer service is a joke, their employees unresponsive and only time will tell how well their work holds up.  I cannot recommend them and have suggested to my insurance company that they be removed as a preferred provider based on the level of service I received from them.  Their price ended up being higher than the highest of the two original estimates I had received and their service was awful.
