HEALING HANDS ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Veterinarians,

About us

At Healing Hands Animal Hospital, we treat the animal, not the disease. That’s the motto of our founder, Dr. Carol Ross Lewis, whose approach to animal health involves combining the best practices of conventional Western veterinary medicine with age-old modalities of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui-Na and food therapy, to promote health and a long life for your pet.

Dr Wheeler is a sweet and smart vet who analyzed and treated my golden retriever treasure  who is now  fully on her road to recovery. . We had a great vet from across the bridge before we moved and thought we'd never find a like replacement , but Dr  Wheeler and her staff filled the gap just right at a very reasonable fee. . So glad we found this vet hosp  thru Angies List.

Response from HEALING HANDS ANIMAL HOSPITAL
"The doctors and staff at Healing Hands Animal Hospital (not Helping Hands) take pride in providing excellent care and customer service to our clients and their pets. We have policies in place to make every effort possible to have your pets medical history available for the doctor so that the best care possible can be provided to your pet during your visit. Certainly in a true emergency a pet would be seen and appropriate care and treatment given, whether prior records could be obtained or not. The care and welfare of any pet is our priority."

They have an excellent team and the service is great. They take the time to try and get to the root of any issues that may arise with our dogs. Most all has been routine stuff - vaccinations, teeth cleaning, etc., but one dog has some allergy issues and they've helped us through those very well. All in all they do a great job, the only downside is their prices are much higher than our old "country vet" where we came from in Virginia. However their services are more complete (higher overhead) which helps to justify the price.

The staff saw us immediately upon our arrival ten minutes early. The preparation nurse was friendly, efficient and professional. The cats were taken one at a time to the blood lab and analysis was performed immediately. The cats were examined with tender loving care and given their shots. Dr. Stephanie Burbach was friendly, thorough, and professional, providing us with options for treatment. The following shots were administered with no apparent discomfort for the cats.
FVRCP Kitten
Feline Purevax for Leukemia
Feline Purevax for Rabies
Canary Pox
We recommend Healing Hands Animal Hospital for the treatment of adult cats without reservation.

s as possible to prevent Dr. Carol Lewis, DMV of Healing hands is the best of the best. She is caring, interested, exceptionally qualified, always available. We have an animal rescue to trap, spay, and neuter as many cats as possible to prevent overpopulation in our are. Healing Hands Animal Hospital has been MOST cooperative since they have opened their doors in 2005. No other animal hospital can compare with their service.

Healing Hands Animal Hospital is the BEST in Salisbury! They are outstanding in every way. All the vets at the practice are very thorough and skilled. Our vet is Dr. Carol Lewis and she is simply outstanding! During every appointment, the tech who does the intake, types all the info on your pet into a laptop computer. They always ask detailed questions about how your pet is doing. They are very genuine and it's obvious that they love what they do and adore animals. One of the unique things about Healing Hands is that they offer Eastern medicine, such as acupuncture and Chinese herbs for your pet. Our doxie Ruby had terrible disc troubles and Dr. Carol Lewis offered us acupuncture and herbs as a remedy. It worked beautifully! A member of the staff will always call on the next day to see how your pet if feeling. They really go the extra mile in the care that they provide your pet. They do a great job when it comes to bath time too! I highly recommend Healing Hands Animal Hospital.
