"Upon reading the review we have looked into our records and are not able to find where we did service work for this customer or this location. We have asked Angie's List to look into this review a little further to verify the customer has the correct company since the work was performed a year prior to the review. Coastal Comfort strives to not only meet but to exceed standards for the services we provide. In the event this happened and of one our technicians did turn off the emergency switch to the furnace, it was a simple mistake and had the customer called Coastal Comfort and informed us of any issues/concerns after the service was completed, we would have addressed them immediately. Unfortunately, this is the first time we have been made aware of any issues by the customer. For nearly 10 years, customer satisfaction has been our top priority and feedback from our customers always helps us improve. The contractor showed up on time (8:30), and worked until the job was complete (around 5:30). I was offered several different models to choose from, with each showing how much I could expect to save on electric and propane (I had heated with propane in prior years). True to form so far through mid December I've only spent around $150 on propane (when I used to spend that much each month). I also understand its been a warm winter, but still. Also, the installer (Chris) stayed late to help me program the high tech high dollar thermostat I got.
I did have one issue in November where the back-up heating source hadn't been turned on (the valve to let the furnace use propane to heat when it drops below freezing). I called and they sent someone out that day to look at it. During the install someone neglected to turn on the valve, so it was a quick fix. He did apologize, and also went through the thermostat to ensure everything was running correctly. He (Chris) again apologized, and so far so good! Things like this happen during an 8+ hour install, so I'm not worried about it. The big thing is they came back to fix it, and fix it that day for free.
I'll be sure to use these guys again, and would recommend for anyone. Very responsive. I contacted them via email during the quote process, and Will responded promptly to my questions. And Lacey was also good about letting me know about the status of my DPand L refund for using a high efficiency AC.
