I’m very pleased with the repointing of the bricks on my front steps. CBJ did a very thorough job and the steps look great! Doug was really easy to work with and kept me well informed throughout the whole process. I definitely would recommend CBJ Home Improvement.

Deck and Porch Service
Project was a new deck, started last year 2024, should have been completed before the end of that summer, here it is Jun 2025 and still not complete, talk to owner several times said still no movement forward, board cracking all over the place due to screws not normal wood cracking, even thought the wood is cracking more and more day by day since the deck is not complete it has not been sealed. Boards do not line up, come home one day during the build to to 3’ wide steps, we ordered 5’ wide steps, no communication between the project manager and the builder. They walked in one day and said we are done except for the sanding and staining, we asked where the post lights were, they said we didn’t order them, I said check the contract, there response after checking was oh our bad, they did a makeshift attempt to add post lights and not the ones we wanted. Talked to the owner (Bill) several times, each time I have to re-explain the issues, each time he says he will come out and make it right, still no appointment and no visit. These guys claim to be a Vet Owned Business, they give it a bad name. I have given him 5 days to respond or we seek legal assistance/action. With they way this project has gone I don’t understand how they stayed in business or received any good reviews. I would give no stars if I could.

Company stands behind their work! They not only came up with a fix for the broken concrete on the patio, but also a solution to reroute the downspout and prevent the problem from re-occuring. A couple of months after the pour, there was an issue that came up with cracking. To my pleasant surprise, there was NO runaround or multiple calls trying to reach the office. Ben responded PROMPTLY, kept in touch throughout the review and rescheduling, and fixed the issue to my complete satisfaction. I told Ben I would be happy to hire CBJ again because of their ethics and ease of communication!

Christian is very personable, but despite the fact that he was the "project manager", he didn't have much control over the job. Despite it being sold to us as a "three-day job", it took a full two weeks to complete because there were never enough men assigned to the job. This does not include the extra days the crew needed to repair the damage to the porch railing and posts that they had done while grinding out mortar; they need better training with their tools, and there needs to be more oversight of the crew. The foreman was often not on the job, which made us wonder who was monitoring quality control. We were irritated when they dumped their equipment in our side yard on a Friday without our consent, ostensibly to use again on Monday; given that it's our dog's yard, we made them remove their things. We also would have appreciated a forewarning about how dirty everything would get with the power washing and grinding; we would have tarped our furniture before work began.

The salesman that came with his trainee, who happened to be the owner's daughter, was over 2 hours late. He had a very smug attitude and was totally disengaged and unprofessional. They never provided a written estimate and gave me a price for my project that was 4 times the price of other estimates I received. Total waste of time having them come and give me an estimate. Will never use them for anything. Bullet dodged!!

CBJ over-promised and under-achieved. I will not employ a company that does not value a potential customers time. I will not use this company for any projects. I wasted 2 1/2 hours waiting for someone to show up to a scheduled appointment at my home. Not pleased that no one from the company made the appointment or called to tell me why they could not make it, I contacted the company. The conversation on the phone let me know that I was making the right choice by electing not to use them for my project. I informed the gentleman on the phone(Bill) that I would write a review about the incident and he replied with a smart remark before he hung up the phone on me.

From start to finish the project was outstanding in every regard and the finished bathrooms are absolutely beautiful! Ahead of project start, the leadership team of Bill, Scott and Doug made sure our design wishes were clearly understood and feasible. The on-site team led by Juan were here all day every workday and even partial weekends - professional, fantastic attention to detail, great with constant communication, always cleaned up at the end of every day. Astoundingly, from actual physical work start they completely renovated both bathrooms in just 24 days! They augmented the core team with specialists as needed.
