ACE OF DIAMONDS CHIMNEY SWEEP

Highly recommend. We had a new "high efficiency" boiler installed 5 years ago and were shocked when it failed. I'm no mechanic, but I could see that the soot and corrosion were quite evident when I pulled the panel. The original installers determined that they should have recommended we line our chimney when the unit was installed and put us in contact with Ace of Diamonds. From the first contact, AoD personnel were prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. We got calls beforehand confirming appointment times and the crews showed up on-time during a BRUTAL (like 9F degrees brutal) cold snap to perform the work and set me up for a boiler replacement. Their crews were clean, polite and friendly. They got the job done as promised.

Ace of Diamonds was very good about scheduling a prompt appointment at my convenience to have my chimney inspected and cleaned. The technicians were polite and kept everything clean. However, I was told it was unsafe to use my chimney because it had 3rd degree creosote. Their ad said they would lower a camera down the chimney to record the condition, no such camera was used, only a phone was use to take photos. They basically looked at each end the best they could. The technician said they would E-mail me info and the photos they took and what it would cost to repair/clean the chimney . That was over 2 weeks ago. I have called their office and they said they would get back to me, they never did, and i never got any e-mail from them. I am moving on and will find another company to consider this repair, or if one is actually need. I DO NOT recommend Ace of Diamonds for this appalling lack of follow up service.

The entire process went well. They came out initially to inspect the entire system. They did a thorough assessment and then clearly explained the problem (inside of vent was pitting and crumbling and piping from WH had too many elbows) and how it needed to be fixed. Also, they were well versed on WSSC inspection codes and explained that the existing vent pipe was in violation as it was touching a drain pipe. At the time of assessment they stated the work would take all day, but they arrived on time on the scheduled day with 3 workers and were done by early afternoon. They cleaned up nicely and hauled away the old vent.

I contacted Angie's List three time because they kept sending me the wrong booklet.  I continue to get the wrong booklets, they send me Staten Island booklets when I needed Suffolk County booklets.  I complained about it and I complained about it and I got nowhere.  A few weeks ago I got an email telling me that, well, I think it said something like, my subscription was about to expire and I don't remember what it said but it didn't resolve the problem.  Even though at the very beginning I only got one booklet for Suffolk County and all the rest were for Staten Island which is 200 miles away and is not close as Suffolk County to me.

First, the scheduling staff in the office are amazing. This company really handles their clients very professionally. I had spoken to the office on more than one occasion to reschedule my appointment due to an illness, and they were more than happy to help. On the day of my appointment, they called to let me know they were on their way and arrived 20 minutes thereafter. They introduced themselves and went right to work.
Nick and Derrek did a great job. Really first class. Very glad they did the work and would recommend them in the future.

The technician cleaned and inspected the pellet stove and the pipe flu. The price of $420 to do this now seems expensive based on the technician pointing out the obvious issues with the stove. There was clearly a crack in the back panel fire brick and also it could be seen that the door gasket had a gap in it. These were the only 2 issues detected. I also thought the stove insert would be removed entirely and cleaned but it was not. It did seem as though the technician was able to clean it without removal.
Responsiveness to my initial call was good and an appointment was set up immediately. The punctuality of the technician was very good.
The technician informed we that there would be follow up via email or a letter letting me know the issues and a price to fix these issues. I have not heard from the vendor since the day the inspection was completed, 11/20/13. For $420 I would have at least expected a follow up and the opportunity to do more business with the company, but received nothing. I gave a and quot;Cand quot; ranking for professionalism but believe that is generous based on having no follow up. The technician was professional.

Went really well. I had to contact a lot of chimney sweep companies a lot of them did not clean high efficient furnace flues. When I contacted Ace of Diamonds, I insisted on speaking with a technician who could confirm that they do indeed clean high efficiency furnace flues and I spoke with the owner. He was very polite, knowledgeable and and spent time with me on the phone first doing a bit of research regarding the property and confirmed that he would be able to provide the service. On the day of the appointment they then contacted me to provide me the time window they anticipate on coming over and arrived as per commitment. The service technician was very knowledgeable and knew about high efficiency furnaces even-though they did chimney sweeps. The gentleman checkout various things including the furnace and the intake and flue. Then he performed the cleaning of the flue and intake and did a good job with it. He also detected minor leakage in the pipe and sealed it.
Everybody who I dealt with from customer service to the owner to the technician was very polite and knowledgeable in their areas of expertise.
Overall, I am very satisfied with them would recommend these folks anytime.

Went well with no add expenditure or repairs

difficulty using gas logs in fireplace secondary to flames going on and off concern regarding safety issues. Called BGE who installed the set up and ran the gas line - they no longer service this type of installation and recommended Ace of Diamonds. i called and gave this firm a choice of dates and they returned my call within 3 hours [ within stated time ] with an agreeable appointment time. the technician was prompt and very neat - he cleaned and serviced the gas logs, demonstrated exactly the method to be used to fine clean the sensors, checked the voltage and gas flow in all areas required. gave detailed instructions on trouble shooting in the future. Called the following day to inquire as to operation of gas fireplace - this writer stated there was no further difficutly. i would highly recommend this service to any one who inquires. the technician insured that his work area was clean upon arrival and departure.

It went well. They removed a big chunk of dried, hardened lint from the end of the vent line. The workers seemed competent and weren't rude, but appeared a bit too casual. I hired Ace of Diamonds in 2009. The workers then had a more professional demeanor and laid out dropcloths on the carpeting from the fireplace to the front door. This time, there were no dropcloths and they left a soot-smudge on the carpet. Not a huge deal, though, because it came out with a little carpet cleaner.

The company overall seems to be first class. I had orginally called the company for a chimmney sweep as I was converting my oil furnace to gas in my 90+ year old row home. I was called the day before as a reminder and what approx. time to expect them. The day of service they callled to let me know the tech's where on their way. They showed up approx. 30 minutes later and went right to work. They soon discoveered the exisitng terracotta liner was crumbleing and needed to be replaced. They finished the cleaning and gave me a prpopsal to install a new liner. I thoght the price was very fare and schduled the installation for the next week. They called againg to let me know the details, the crew came out and did quick efficient job, even changed the configuration of the exhaust to make it easier to manuver around. The tech took the time to review what he and his team had done. Both crew where very professional and did a very nice job of cleaning up. I would recomoend them to anybody.

We were advised by the technician who cleaned the chimney that our liner did not extend all the way to the top of the chimney and there were some repairs needed. He told us he would have an estimate prepared and get back to us. After waiting several weeks, I called the company and was told they were really behind but would go through their pile of paperwork and find our job and get right back to us. Again, after not hearing from them for a couple of weeks I called one more time. They apologized profusely and again said they would get right back to us. Never heard from them and wouldn't choose to ever do business with a company like that.

I had already paid another company at least $150.00 to inspect and repair the main fireplace and they could not give us resolution but still charged us the money. Ace of Diamonds had 2 gentlemen show up on time and with an impressive knowledge base of fireplaces and how to troubleshoot and what to do. They got both fireplaces up and running satisfactorily, made sure that I knew how to use both and was comfortable doing so and took their time going over things with me and answering many questions without making me feel stupid. They also tracked down and ordered the remote control for one unit and later installed it for an additional fee. Much superior service compared to any of the other companies we had talked to and certainly to the prevous one we had out. I also appreciated the follow up phone call afterwards from the company to see how things had gone. Besides a little difficulty scheduling the appointment initially everything went great and I was very comfortable with them and satisfied with the work.

They were very knowledgeable. They did a good job and we're satisfied with it.

I had been without heat for over a week before I called them. At first, they said it would be another two weeks before they got to me; however, when I explained how long I'd already gone, they came the very next day. They were courteous and professional.

They were a sub contractor to my furnace installer. I had asked them about other chimney work and I thought that their pricing was quite high. Other than that they were very professional, and they got the job done on time. I would recommend them to others just for an estimate if you don't have another alternative.

I have used this company for the last eighteen years. Their quality of work has always been good. They were always good about showing up at the scheduled times and getting the job done.

I made an appointment to get an assessment on installing a liner and replacing the old, inefficient, leaky wood stove insert in my fireplace. A crew came out to look over the situation from top to bottom and recommended a new type of insert that is cleaner and much more efficient, the stainless steel pipe in lieu of a liner. They also identified a crack that needed caulking. I looked over the materials subsequently mailed to me, chose an insert model and they installed it within a week or ten days. They were all professional, polite and efficient. They also were careful to protect the carpeting while they worked. I contacted the company a month after they installed the insert to see if they could make a few adjustments to their work. They said that it would cost $1521 above what they already charged to install it in the first place. We were expecting to pay about $500 for the additional work. I thought estimate was a little extreme and they were unwilling to change it.
