WHITE FLINT AUTO REPAIR

White Flint Auto (WFA) has been handling my basic car maintenance for a couple of years now, and I can't say enough good things about them. I first visited them when my brakes were squeaking and Merchant's claimed to have cleaned them. WFA guy told me the brakes didn't appear to have been cleaned, but he would give them a scrub. He didn't even charge me, and the squeaks disappeared! I rewarded them with my business from then on. They are always punctual, charge a fair price, and don't seem to recommend unnecessary services. After a lifetime of dealing with Mr. Tire and Merchant's, these guys are a breath of fresh air. Only drawback is they have no weekend hours, but I've noticed that the best repair shops close on weekends. It's well worth it to get an early weekday appt with WFA instead. (Cost of service specified below is for a tire rotation and oil change - my most recent service)

I've been a loyal customer of White Flint auto for years (maybe a decade). They have always been great and I was reminded of it during my last oil change. I was scheduled for a drop off but had a last minute scheduling problem needed to wait for the car instead. They were able to maek it happen getting me an early morning oil change, and getting it done fast, so I could get out the door to in time for a meeting I could not skip at work. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic. Honest, reliable, fairly priced. My boyfriend found this place and took his car there - it needed a lot of work - too much to list! They did it all for him for $1,100 and even fixed his door, which didn't open properly (backed into pole), for free in 24 hours! I recently purchased a used car and needed a MD state inspection. I brought it to a place in Rockville, they told me that I needed new ball joints and that it would cost about $800. I called White Flint and they said they could do it for $550, I brought it in and upon further inspection they found that absolutely nothing was wrong with my car! The other guys were trying to scam me! It just so happened that the day I brought it in was the same day that White Flint Auto Repair received their MD State Inspection certification so they were able to do a brand new inspection for me and my car passed with flying colors. They are fantastic, I recommend them to all.

It is so rare that a relationship with a business is a good as the one I have with White Flint Auto repair. I cannot say enough about how much I trust these guys with my cars. First of all, you won't find a more honest car repair shop anywhere. There is NEVER a job being performed if Juan thinks it's not necessary. These guys have saved me tons of money in the ten years I've been using their services. They know their job, take their time to identify the problem and do things right. When cheaper options that you can live with are available, they're always share them with you. I always buy pre-owned cars and WFAR is the place I take them for a checkup before I make an offer, and it has always worked fabulously. I honestly can't praise them enough. I want these guys to be available for me on short notice, so I hesitate a bit to advertise how good they are, but the Angie's List subscribers deserve to know what an excellent place WFAR is and Juan deserves the business.

I have used this company for about ten years now and even though I live in Virginia I will continue to take my car to White Flint Auto Repair as there is no one who takes better care of me and my car. They always give me an estimate before beginning work on my car and let me know if there are things they have found that I did not know about.
As I took the car in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I knew that with the things that needed to be done, my car might not be ready till after Thanksgiving, which was the case. I rented a car from Enterprise, which is in the same complex as the shop, and even received a discount thanks to an agreement that White Flint has with Enterprise.
When I picked my car up on Friday, it was in excellent condition. My car has 150,000 miles and will last even longer thanks to the care that Juan, Al and Eston give to my car.

I have used White Flint Auto on many occasions for all my service needs and have always had wonderful service. I was sad to move out of the area because I always knew that my cars were in great hands and that I would receive wonderful care.

I have had my car back for about two months and haven't had a problem with it. They were very timely, I got my car back the same day I dropped it off. I would recommend them to others as well as use them again in the future.

I have taken my cars to Juan at White Flint for 15 years. I always know the work will be excellent, timely, and reasonably priced. He has always done little extra things that make his customer service exceptional.

I take my car to them all the time - for oil changes, brakes, regular maintenance, light bulbs, etc. They are so nice and professional. Their work is great!

When I originally reported on these services last year, I still felt loyal to White Flint Auto. Recently, however, several factors have changed my opinion and caused me to ask this List to delete the original report. I'd used this company to maintain my two autos during the past 15 years. For the first 10 or so years, their price, quality and customer service seemed unrivaled in my immediate area. However, I've found that in the past four or five years, the quality of the work has become erratic and the owner has become unwilling to take responsibility for the mistakes of his employees. I first noticed this in 2001-2004 when each of the three people to whom I had recommended White Flint Auto complained to me of incorrect and/or incomplete repairs and vowed never to return. I began to notice the same problems: incorrect repairs and/or unneeded services and indifferent customer service. More than once, I received an unrequested oil and filter change even though I'd changed them myself two weeks earlier. I was never able to get those charges removed from my bills and subsequently had to preface each repair order with, "please don't change the oil." At the time that I reported on the above repairs, I felt satisfied with them. However, the current problem with this company is their increasing inconsistency and unwillingness to admit mistakes and correct them. After one of their mechanics clipped off a trailer wiring harness while installing a bumper and management was unwilling to replace the wiring, White Flint Auto finally lost this 15-year customer. I've based the letter grades on my most recent experiences with this company rather than on the exemplary service they used to provide.
