It went really well. When they came out and did the estimate, they explained everything and gave me options. They gave me 3 other houses where the exact shingles of my home has so I was able to see and drive to those. They identified the materials and described the different options that I could choose from, I really appreciate that. They came out of schedule, they brought a large crew with them, it took a few days, but they worked really hard. They did an excellent job.

Mr. Widmayer came out to the house a week after my initial call to inspect the roof and take photos. After getting three additional estimates, I decided to go with Widmayer. The lowest estimate I received was from Thomas C Johnson for $3,100 and the highest was from Robert C. Pence for $5,600. Everything went well except the wait time. Mr. Widmayer told me 4 weeks (he said there were 10 roofs ahead of me). After not hearing anything from them after 12 weeks I called (December 2017) to make sure they did not forget about me, and I was told there were now 3 roofs ahead of me. In January 2018, they replaced the roof on my townhouse. It took 2 days. They worked hard, were polite, and cleaned up well.

They did a lot of work. I can tell you that I got a good deal. I would use them again in a heartbeat. There were three workers. Most of work was done by two, but the owner walked the roof, and directed everything, for a couple of hours. They were here for three to four days. They just do a really good job. They listen when you talk to them. They give you options. I just really like the work that they did.

Wow - these folks are skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced; they were referred to me by a builder in my neighborhood (he uses them for his building jobs).  It was the most professional roofing job I've ever seen, and I've seen and done several in my day.  They did a complete, detailed job, great prep work, removed all the metal roofing and old shingle roofing material and flashing (I put it up 35 yrs ago). The put drip edging all around the perimeter, installed snow/ice shield (including torching it on the ends to seal up by the house), put on the new shingles nice and tight.  The flashing job to finish it was EXCELLENT - put a base layer of flashing on first, then ground a groove in the mortar joint above it and put a second layer of flashing into the groove and then on top of the base layer. They they sealed the mortar joint with roofing caulk.  That's a level of detail that most roofing companies won't do.
The clean up was great - not a stray nail to be found.

I was thrilled with this company. We had damage to our roof from a branch falling, which created significant water damage to the interior of the house. All our interior repairs were hinged on getting the roof fixed. This occurred the week before July 4th and we could not get a single roofing company to come to the house and provide an estimate. I called Widmayer and they called back immediately after the July 4th weekend and squeezed us into their schedule. They came promptly and provided a reasonable estimate. They were able to perform the work that same day. After waiting 9 days to get even one estimate from any company, I was very grateful to have a high-quality company perform the work.

My leak was active, and the company proposed schedule was not as soon as another roofer.
Went with other roofer.

Excellent. hey truly know their business and have an excellent slater. Don't use just any roofing company for slate. I met with plenty of other companies that clearly didn't know the slate business.

It went perfectly. They required a 1/3 deposit when we scheduled the work, but they didn't deposit the check until they started the work, which was about 6 weeks later due due much rain. We have had multiple roof leaks for years since an initial re-roofing that was poorly done. We had several roofers try to correct the errors and Widmayer was best able to spot the problems and offer solutions. So far the leaks are fixed. Their approach was very professional, including a visit by Mr. Widmayer, himself, to determine what was needed.

Contacted them because of what I thought was leak in flashing around false chimney. They were very responsive and came out, after they explained their hourly billing system for service calls, and took about 30 photos of damage. It turned out my leaks were from missing mortar and not flashing. They recommended a great stone guy and that has been repaired. But they did notice that my 80+ year old stacks were in sad shape and that I had some Bangor slate that needed replacing. I got sent a bid and they did their work after the mason was finished pointing.
Again, more photos were supplied to show what they had done since that high up I could see if I wanted to. They might be a little on the high side of price but they were a pleasure to work with.
My only suggestion would be try pick up more of the removed caulking where they removed the old seams and replaced it but I am finding strips of old stuff around the foundation. Not a big deal, but not sure it's effect on the environment.
I plan on using them again.

The process went very well through every step. We called Widmayer shortly after the storm Sandy when we found water marks in a number of locations on our cathedral ceiling. Although they were very busy, they responded quickly to my voice mail message and made an appointment for an estimate just two days later. The estimator arrived when scheduled and walked the roof carefully, took pictures, and told us his wife Kay would email us an estimate in a day or two. That did in fact happen. We had several estimates and Widmayer's was in the middle. We liked their professionalism and decided to use them. They gave us a week that they expected the work would be done, pending weather. They called a few days before they could start to give us an exact schedule. They arrived when scheduled, the entire team of workers (there were 5 or 6) were very courteous and worked efficiently. As it turned out, much of the wood on the back side of the house was bad. Widmayer had noted that this could happen and they would have to charge us additionally for any replacement of the wood. The price for this was very fair. They completed the work in three days. Before the wood issues were uncovered, they had said that they might finish in two but it could be three. They added some flashing when they discovered that some of our siding panels were bad and uneven at no extra charge. This was cosmetic but very much enhanced their final work. They cleaned up thoroughly each day and were especially thorough at the end. Based on this experience, we would definitely recommend Widmayer to others.

Generally I found their service very good. They were backed up due to the circumstances. They were very efficient and polite. They were very careful on the work they did. I was quite pleased. I didn't do price comparisons.
