Original review: Silkrock did a SPECTACULAR job. I was glad that the contractor himself did the work (with one extremely gifted assistant). They were painstaking which meant that the work took a while but was VERY well worth the wait to have such beautiful work. They honored and carried out my vision and also made some great suggestions for doing things when I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, that came out really really well. The attention to detail makes both of my bathrooms really luxurious show-places. I almost can't believe how beautiful they are, and I also can't believe that they are MY bathrooms. Everyone who sees them is stunned by the fine workmanship and beauty of the finished product. Silkrock was extremely professional throughout, very very responsive to my concerns and questions, a real pleasure to work with. I dreaded doing this work and dealing with a contractor but Silkrock always showed a great deal of integrity. I highly, highly recommend them for the gorgeous work they do, and for the way they do their work. addendum 10/2016: There were some problems. The under-floor heating system was installed on the wrong electricity standard (220 not 110) so it burned out, necessitating the floor having to be ripped up, a new heating system installed, and then a new floor laid. In addition, one cabinet recently fell off the wall and damaged the bathtub when it did so. When it fell off the wall, I learned that it was not anchored in studs, simply anchored in drywall, and the anchors used were not adequate to hold the cabinet. If someone had been beneath the cabinet when it fell they could easily have been gravely injured, given that the falling cabinet took a chunk out of the bathtub.
Description of Work: Silkrock gutted two of my bathrooms (the approximate cost I put was per bathroom and does NOT include all the supplies, which I bought--just the gutting and subsequent installation) and put in new sinks, vanities, cabinets, toilets, floors, under-floor heating, a tub in one bathroom, a walk-in shower (they constructed one which replaced a shower/ tub combo) in the other bathroom, tiling of walls over the tub and for the walk-on shower, all towel rods, glass sliding door for shower, etc. They also put in new doors and painted.
